- Description
- Teller County's Facilities department is seeking a part-time custodian (up to 28hrs. per week) to perform janitorial tasks and maintains County facilities in a clean and orderly condition.
What You'll Do
- (1) Clean offices, rest rooms, sinks, hallways, stairs, entryway and all public areas, including vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, waxing, sanitizing and emptying all trash cans and installing new liners.
- (2) Dust and polish all counter tops and woodwork where possible.
- (3) Turn off interior building lights and make sure doors are secure.
- (4) Replenish supplies in rest rooms and other public areas; make sure air fresheners are in working condition
- (5) Perform similar duties as required, including moving materials for building occupants.
- Requirements
What You'll Bring
Experience/Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two (2) years of work experience
- Any equivalent combination of education and experience.
You Also Have
- Knowledge of: proper use and handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment; principles and processes for providing excellent customer service, including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
- Skilled in: proper use and handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment
- Ability to: perform daily tasks with no supervision; operate a variety of cleaning equipment; perform moderately heavy manual work; follow written procedures; communicate effectively; establish and maintain effective and professional working relationships with co-workers, other county departments, representatives of other agencies and organizations, and the public.
Additional Details About the Role
- Visual Acuity/Hearing/Speaking: Ability to communicate verbally with county employees.
- Physical Effort/Dexterity: Ability to perform moderate heavy manual work; lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Environmental Factors: Work requires use of chemicals for cleaning and the handling of trash.
- Work Schedule/Characteristics: Up to twenty eight (28) hours per work week on a shift basis.
- Requirements: Possession of and ability to maintain a valid Colorado driver’s license
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: $17.82 - $18.71 / hour
- FLSA Status: Non-Exempt, Hourly, Part-Time (up to 28 hours per week)
- Position closes: 4:00 p.m., Friday, November 7, 2025
