• Description
• To perform a variety of custodial, maintenance, and groundskeeping tasks at Authority facilities. Cleans the Maintenance Department and provides upkeep of public housing properties. Prepares apartments for occupancy by cleaning apartments, checking appliances and fixtures. Assists other maintenance staff on large projects.

• Essential Functions
• Performs a variety of daily maintenance and housekeeping tasks at Authority facilities: Checks to be sure ticket machines are working properly and are stocked with tickets; checks gates to be sure that they are working properly; empties waste receptacles and replaces can liners as necessary; dusts desks and other furniture; cleans floors using dust mop, wet mop, and vacuum; cleans glass windows, doors, mirrors; cleans walls periodically; cleans elevators; cleans microwaves and refrigerators as needed; cleans rest rooms by disinfecting lavatories, toilets, toilet seats, and urinals, empties trash and cleans trash receptacles, mops floors, wipes walls, and replenishes towels and soap; spot waxes floors as needed.
• Performs general groundskeeping tasks in order to maintain clean, neat appearance of properties operated by the Authority: Cleans grounds, decks, and stairwells of paper and debris; replaces light bulbs as needed; cleans signs and camera lenses; rakes and bags leaves and debris at Authority facilities and leaves bags in designated locations for pick-up; sweeps away water in front of office and/or on decks and keeps drains clear; observes conditions at facilities and reports any unusual conditions or activities such as the presence of strangers, unsafe conditions, or broken or damaged equipment; mows grass, trims, prunes trees/shrubbery to maintain grounds; fertilizes grass and shrubbery in accordance with instructions and as needed; paints curbs, walls, and doors as needed; responds to inquiries from staff, customers, and the public.

• Education
• High School Diploma/GED Certificate Preferred
• Work Experience
• Six (6) months or more Experience in building and/or grounds maintenance. Required
• Licenses and Certifications
• Driver’s License, Valid Upon Hire - Required
