  • This position is located at Vandenberg Space Force Base, California.

  • This position is not eligible for a telecommuting schedule.

  • Salary determined by Collective Bargaining Agreement.
  •  
  • Essential Functions
  • * Plan, coordinate, configure and control all operations and maintenance for the Telemetry Receiving Station and the Mobile Telemetry Receiving Station with minimal supervision
  • * Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on Telemetry Systems
  • * Troubleshoot individual equipment and entire subsystems within the Telemetry system
  • * Operate several Telemetry systems such as the 35’ and 44’ Antenna systems, Receiver Stations, Recorder Stations, Wideband Recorders, Mixers, Strip Chart Recorders, TGRS, PDTS and TGRS Wideband Recording System
  • * Isolate system faults to the lowest repairable unit and work complex problems in the Telemetry system
  • * Train all lower-level technicians
  • * Ensure onsite implementation and adherence to established safety standards and practices
  • * Other duties as assigned
  •  Required Skills
  • * Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • * Strong organizational skills with specific emphasis on attention to detail
  • * Solid conflict management skills and the ability to exercise diplomacy within a team environment
  • Required Experience
  • * Associate’s degree in electronic technology, two-year technical school, or equivalent military experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • * Minimum of five (5) years related electronic technician experience

* Proficient experience in

  • * Electronic and RF support 
  • * The use of test equipment such as oscilloscopes, specialty RF test equipment such as spectrum analyzers and power meters, and multi-meters

* Knowledge and understanding of

  • * Telemetry site configuration
  • * Operation, configuration, and troubleshooting of telemetry systems
  • * A wide variety of telemetry equipment involving numerous disciplines and technologies
  • * Telemetry antennas, slaving system, multicouplers, receivers, demodulators, wideband recorders, chart recorders, bit synchronizers, mixers, video amplifiers, level converters, Translated GPS Range System (TGRS) and the Post Detect Telemetry Subsystem (PDTS)
  • * Vandenberg Space Force Base Operations
  • * Knowledge of RED/Black communications and security practices, preferred
  •  Additional Eligibility Qualifications
  • * Able to work at heights up to 50 feet
  • * Able to lift, push, pull and carry up to 50 lbs. 
  • * Able to sustain prolonged periods of standing, kneeling and or repeated stooping 
  • * Able to read electronic schematics and block diagrams
  • * The flexibility to work non-duty hours or weekends to support specific project or mission requirements
  • * Must have an active U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Security Clearance, or higher, which includes U.S. citizenship
  • * Valid U.S. Driver’s License

  • The hourly rate for this role is determined by a Collective Bargaining Unit and ranges from $40.85 to $50.98. RGNext considers several factors when extending an offer for employment, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training and preferred skills and knowledge.
