We are a growing retail business in East Africa seeking an experienced Odoo accounting expert to serve as our dedicated bookkeeper and optimize our financial systems for continued growth and professional operations. Our Business: •Established retail operation with strong growth trajectory •Modern POS-based retail concept with high transaction volume •Planning multi-location expansion •Seeking to maintain professional accounting standards What We Need Primary Responsibilities: 1. Odoo System Optimization •Audit current Odoo setup and recommend improvements •Ensure proper integration between POS, Accounting, and Inventory modules •Configure system for multi-location operations •Set up automated reporting and reconciliation processes 2. Daily Bookkeeping Operations •Daily POS session management and reconciliation •Sales data verification and recording •Inventory tracking and cost management •Bank reconciliation and cash flow monitoring •Monthly financial statement preparation 3. Professional Financial Management •Maintain audit-ready books with proper documentation •Implement internal controls and procedures •Create standardized financial reporting •Ensure tax compliance and regulatory requirements •Prepare management reports with key performance indicators 4. Growth Support •Support accounting setup for new locations •Create scalable procedures and documentation •Implement consolidated reporting systems •Assist with business planning and analysis Required Qualifications Technical Expertise • 3+ years hands-on Odoo experience (Community or Enterprise) • Expert knowledge of Odoo POS module and retail operations • Experience with multi-location accounting setup • Advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills • Understanding of retail inventory management and costing Professional Experience • Retail or restaurant industry bookkeeping experience • High-volume transaction processing experience • Multi-location business accounting preferred • Experience with businesses focused on growth and expansion • Professional accounting qualification (CPA, ACCA, or equivalent) preferred Essential Skills • Excellent English communication skills • Detail-oriented with strong analytical abilities • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision • Proactive problem-solving approach • Understanding of business growth challenges
