  • The NonWoven Line Machine Operator is part of a team of machine operators that operate a continuously moving production machine called the Non-Woven Machinery Line (NW Line) that produces an air-laid ventilation pad. The NW Line requires attention to process, procedures, and safety under the direction of the Department Production Supervisor and Production Manager.
  • Requirements

Qualifications Required

  • High school diploma or Equivalent.
  • Ability to read English, follow verbal instructions and use simple math.
  • 2-3 years Manufacturing-related Experience.
  • General knowledge of PLC-Driven Machinery

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for preparing the machinery for efficient operation by ensuring the use of appropriate tools and making certain that the tools used are functional – Proper Setup; Point of Operation; and Machine Guards.
  • Responsible for running and monitoring the machine while it is operating.
  • Inspect and monitor machines on a regular basis during the entire shift and adjust the speed of the machine as well as loading it with materials.
  • Promote quality control through comparison of produced products.
  • If a machine is making slight or minor error, it should be immediately corrected.
  • Recognize and pull correct materials for production.
  • Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
  • Performs prescribed preventative maintenance on machines as required by Facility Maintenance Manager.
  • Must be familiar with the basic machine functions in order to perform the tasks stated above.
  • Must be willing to accept and receive frequent supervision and assistance with regard to machine set-up.
  • Flexible Break and Lunch Schedules based on NW Line timing and operation.
  • May be required to work overtime including weekends and holidays as necessary.
