- The Night Auditor ensures the smooth overnight operation of the property by balancing guest service responsibilities with essential accounting and reporting duties. - Key Responsibilities
- Guest Services & Community
- Greet, check in, and assist late-night and early-morning guests, ensuring a genuine and elevated experience.
- Cultivate loyalty and friendships within the Gravity Haus community, educating guests on membership benefits and offerings.
- Handle check-in and check-out protocols using the property management system (PMS).
- Assist with guest room orientation and property tours, ensuring a warm welcome.
- Provide anticipatory guest service, addressing requests proactively and ensuring a comfortable stay.
- Respond to and resolve guest concerns, including billing issues, service challenges, or emergencies, escalating per the phone tree when needed.
- Deliver amenities, assist with luggage, and support maintenance or engineering needs as required.
- Ensure grooming and presentation meet Gravity Haus’ professional standards.
- Operations & Communication
- Serve as the overnight bridge between Front Desk, Housekeeping, Engineering, and other departments, ensuring seamless communication.
- Use software to log maintenance issues and connect with operations teams.
- Communicate efficiently with all Gravity Haus divisions, including participation in company meetings and intercompany Slack channels.
- Maintain and follow up on guest request logs, welcome call logs, and complaint logs.
- Manage room blocking, bedding needs, and inventory adjustments to optimize guest satisfaction; ensure rooms are blocked and inventory balanced for the next two days.
- Reply to reservation inquiries from direct guests and partners.
- Audit & Accounting
- Complete nightly reconciliation of revenue and room charges, ensuring accuracy across all transactions.
- Review and execute the night audit checklist, preparing and distributing daily reports.
- Ensure arrivals are properly checked in and rooms filed under the correct guest name and room number.
- Verify all registration cards are signed and credit cards on file; conduct bucket checks at least once per shift.
- Balance cash drawers and credit card transactions, ensuring proper handling of a personal cash bank (sign in/out).
- Print, review, and file emergency reports accurately.
- What We’re Looking For
- Previous front desk, accounting, or hotel operations experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and numerical skills.
- Ability to work independently and stay attentive throughout overnight shifts.
- Proficiency with PMS systems, Microsoft Office/Google Suite, and willingness to learn GH platforms (Alice, Slack).
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills; customer-focused and calm under pressure.
- Prior experience with night audit or hospitality accounting functions.
- Familiarity with Toast, Mews, Stripe, or other software systems.
- Work Environment
- Stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8 hours).
- Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 25 lbs. occasionally.
- Manual dexterity for handling transactions and computer systems.
- Flexibility to work overnight hours, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
