Include a QR code as an alternative in case the device doesn’t support NFC. Pet (or “Tag”) Registration & Profile Create a profile to store the pet’s name, breed, owner contact, relevant data, photo, behavior, etc. Web/mobile interface for the owner to register and edit the information. Cloud Synchronization / Notifications When someone scans the tag, the owner should receive an alert (email, push, SMS) with approximate location or at least a scan notification. Universal Compatibility The tag should be readable from Android and iOS without requiring the other user to have the app installed (ideally via a web link).
