Project: Nursing Voice-to-Text Mobile App (React Native + Whisper API) MVP Company: Reset App Industry: Healthcare / Home Health Nursing Platform: iOS + Android (React Native) Project Summary I am looking for an experienced and trustworthy React Native mobile developer to build the MVP version of Reset App, a voice-to-text documentation tool designed specifically for nurses. The app must allow users to: Record audio Send it to the OpenAI Whisper API Receive a transcription Automatically format it into one of three nursing documentation styles: SOAP Narrative Head-to-Toe Assessment This is a well-scoped MVP, not a full product build. Core Deliverables 1. React Native App (iOS + Android) Single recording screen Start/stop audio recording Playback option Upload audio to backend endpoint 2. Whisper API Integration Secure API call to OpenAI Whisper Return transcription Error handling for failed audio uploads 3. Documentation Templates Developer must implement three formatting templates: ✔ SOAP ✔ Narrative ✔ Head-to-Toe Assessment App will insert transcription into correct fields/sections. 4. Basic UI Clean, simple, nurse-friendly interface Template selection dropdown Recording timer Smooth transition: Recording → Transcribing → Output No design system needed; simple and functional is enough. 5. Backend (Lightweight) Node.js or Python backend (basic MVC is fine) Endpoint to receive audio file → forward to Whisper Secure handling of API keys (environment variables) Save transcription + selected template to database (Supabase or Firebase) If you recommend a simpler backend for MVP, I am open to suggestions. 6. Testing + Delivery TestFlight + Google Play internal testing Clean project structure All source code delivered via GitHub One round of revisions for bug fixes Developer Requirements Strong experience with React Native Experience integrating OpenAI Whisper Experience building mobile recording features Strong communication skills Must be reliable, honest, and willing to explain choices Healthcare or HIPAA experience is a plus Project Budget MVP budget range: $1,250 total This project will be divided into 3 fixed-price milestones once the developer is selected.
