About

I moved my domain’s nameservers from GoDaddy to my own Plesk server on Hetzner and uploaded my WordPress backup. The site is not loading and shows “Error establishing a database connection.” I need a WordPress/Plesk specialist to quickly diagnose and fix, restore the site, and harden the setup. Stack / Environment Server: Hetzner Cloud (Ubuntu) Control Panel: Plesk (WordPress Toolkit available) Domain Registrar: GoDaddy (nameservers now point to my Plesk) Domain: gelevated.com Web root: /var/www/vhosts/gelevated.com/httpdocs Backup format: All-in-One WP Migration .wpress file (available) Current issue: Plesk sees WP files, site shows DB connection error. phpMyAdmin currently shows no WP tables. What I Need Done (Scope) DNS & Nameservers sanity check Confirm glue/host records are correct at the registrar if needed. Verify Plesk DNS zone (NS/A/AAAA) is correct; remove stray AAAA if causing split routing. Plesk hosting config Confirm Document root = /httpdocs and no duplicate installs (e.g., /httpdocs/wordpress). Remove/rename Plesk default index.html if present. Database fix Ensure MySQL is running and create/attach proper DB + DB user. Update wp-config.php with correct creds and DB_HOST (localhost:3306 or 127.0.0.1:3306 as needed). Restore site Restore my .wpress backup properly (via AI1WM “Backups → Restore” or other reliable method). Confirm full content appears and admin is accessible. WordPress polish Set Site URL correctly (Toolkit), Permalinks → Save, fix any mixed content. Ensure PHP version & modules (mysqli, curl, zip, gd, mbstring) are correct; bump PHP limits for imports. SSL + redirects Issue Let’s Encrypt for gelevated.com + www. Force HTTPS (SEO-safe 301) and set preferred domain (with or without www). Hygiene & handoff Clear cache, verify cron works, remove unused test installs. Configure a simple backup schedule (weekly files + DB to local or remote; I can provide Backblaze/AWS later). Provide a short one-page handover of what you changed and where (DB name/user, key settings, any noteworthy fixes). Deliverables / Acceptance Criteria https://gelevated.com loads the correct site over HTTPS (and www redirects consistently). WordPress admin is accessible, and Plesk WordPress Toolkit recognizes the install. phpMyAdmin shows standard WP tables (not empty). No “database connection” errors; permalinks working; no Plesk default page. Simple backup job configured; brief handover doc provided. Access I Can Provide (as needed) Plesk admin URL + temporary admin user SFTP credentials Registrar access (GoDaddy) for nameserver/host records if you need to verify The .wpress backup file (already uploaded or I can upload to httpdocs/wp-content/ai1wm-backups/)
