About
About us We’re a small commercial electrical contractor based in Central Texas. We do tenant finish-outs, light industrial, and commercial remodel/new construction. We’re building a system where every job is pre-planned in BIM before our electricians step on site so installs are faster, cleaner, and more predictable. We’re looking for a reliable BIM partner, not a one-off drafter. Scope of work / deliverables For each assigned project, you will: Build an electrical BIM model in Revit from provided architectural / MEP plans and PDFs. Model existing conditions and proposed electrical layouts (panels, conduits/routes, devices, equipment). Generate views our team can use: Overall floor plan with electrical routes Panel / equipment layouts Key details needed for field install Provide a basic material takeoff / quantities based on the model (conduit lengths, major devices, panels, etc.). Export: Revit file PDFs of key sheets / views Any schedules used for quantities We will start with 1–2 “test” projects; if it works well, this becomes ongoing work. Skills required Strong Revit experience specifically with MEP / electrical for commercial projects. Ability to work from PDFs and markups (not just fully coordinated models). Comfortable with US construction standards / symbolism (doesn’t need to be licensed). Good written English and ability to ask clarifying questions. Please include examples or screenshots of similar electrical BIM work. How we’ll work together We assign a project with: PDFs, CAD (if available), and notes Clear BIM “level” (light pre-bid model vs. full construction model) Target hours or fixed price for that project You confirm scope, ask questions, and propose a delivery date. We communicate primarily via Upwork messages; occasional Loom video from us for explanations. We expect: Quick acknowledgement of new messages (within 24 hours) Honest time reporting Proactive communication if something is unclear or will be delayed First project will be paid test work. If we both like working together, we’ll move to a simple per-project pricing structure and give you repeat work. To start the conversation, please answer: What’s your experience specifically with electrical BIM in Revit? What information do you need from us to start a typical project? What’s your preferred working schedule/time zone? Keep it short and show me only your most relevant electrical BIM examples.
