Position Summary The Carefree Manufacturing/Industrial Engineer is responsible for analyzing operations, designing workflows and production processes, reducing inefficiency, and ensuring that final products meet or exceed the established quality standards. This role requires creating a positive work environment as a leader of continuous improvement across all functions within a diverse workforce. The position reports to the Director of Operations. Essential Duties of the Manufacturing/Industrial Engineer include: Evaluate current manufacturing practices for improvement, and design new processes to support quality initiatives, growth or change based on business conditions. Assure product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes. Design equipment layouts and workspaces for maximum efficiency. Generate, review, and revise standard operating procedures, including updating drawings for process changes. Provide information to assist in manufacturing decision-making by calculating production, labor, and material costs. Complete design and development projects, to include training and guiding technicians and production personnel. From conceptualization to implementation, direct projects that improve efficiency through application of Lean Manufacturing principles and other various continuous improvement tools. Lead Continuous Improvement initiatives and define roadmap, milestones and deliverables. Facilitate Lean training and workshops to build continuous improvement capabilities among staff. Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions for production inefficiencies and quality issues. Work with Engineering concerning implementation of new product design, assembly, and tooling to ensure safe and efficient production methods. Responsible for incorporating safety, health and environmental policies and procedures in daily work, project goals and outcomes throughout the facility, as well as collaborating with Operations Management and Engineering teams to ensure compliance with same. Other duties and special projects as assigned. Qualifications for the Manufacturing/Industrial Engineer include: Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment Bachelor's degree in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering, or related field Interpersonal skills for interacting with team members and stakeholders at varying levels of the organization. Ability to thrive and adapt in a fast-paced, changing environment. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven mindset. Proficient in process mapping, statistical analysis, and continuous improvement tools. Strong attention to detail. Ability to think strategically, gather and synthesize data and information, review objectively, and present facts and recommendations to management. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proven ability to lead teams in implementing productivity changes. Ability to create viable solutions to overcome a variety of challenges. Commitment to meeting deadlines, with ability and willingness to occasionally work additional hours, when necessary. Ability to coordinate and influence internal and external resources to advance business objectives. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, CAD (Solidworks), Proven experience applying Lean and Six Sigma is required. Compensation and Benefits The salary for this position is anticipated to start between $2,461.54 and $3,692.31 biweekly.
