  • JOB SUMMARY
  • The Manager of Software Engineering – Matchstiq Platform will lead and oversee all software engineering activities for the Matchstiq development team and contribute to broader software initiatives across Epiq Design Solutions. This role plays a critical role in shaping the strategy and execution of software efforts that enable powerful, compact, and mission-ready SDR systems. The ideal candidate will ensure software initiatives are aligned with business and product goals while maintaining a strong emphasis on quality, performance, and delivery reliability.
  • TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide hands-on technical leadership and oversight for the development of embedded software and supporting tools that power the Matchstiq family of SDR products.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams (RF, FPGA, systems, hardware) to integrate new radio features and support new hardware capabilities.
  • Partner with product and project management teams—as well as the software architect—to guide the software development lifecycle, including roadmap planning, feature prioritization, release coordination, and maintenance activities.
  • Own the execution of software development timelines, ensuring deliverables remain on schedule and within defined scope.
  • Provide accurate estimates and resource planning to support project execution and strategic prioritization.
  • Represent Epiq in technical conversations with customers and partners, contributing domain expertise and building confidence in the capabilities of the Matchstiq platform.
  • Act as a senior technical advisor and influencer across the organization, helping shape design patterns, integration practices, and platform-wide technical decisions.
  • Champion and implement engineering best practices, including modular design, automated testing, version control, and documentation standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that increase reliability, maintainability, and development velocity.
  • MANAGMENT RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Define, evolve, and champion software development processes and tools to improve team agility and productivity across Matchstiq projects.
  • Stay current with trends in embedded systems, SDR, Linux development, and wireless communications, and apply relevant advancements to Matchstiq software efforts.
  • Lead a team of 5–9 software engineers, allocating resources across multiple active development efforts while balancing short- and long-term priorities.
  • Support the growth and career development of engineers through coaching, technical mentorship, and professional development planning.
  • Conduct recurring 1:1s, provide ongoing feedback, and complete performance reviews to support each team member’s success.
  • Cultivate a team culture rooted in innovation, collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Navigate interpersonal dynamics with professionalism, empathy, and a focus on maintaining a high-performing and supportive team environment.
  • Requirements
  • TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering required; Master's in Engineering preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in software development specializing in x86 and ARM-based Linux embedded sensors and systems.

Deep knowledge and experience in

  • Software-defined radio (SDR) and signal processing across diverse hardware platforms
