JOB OVERVIEW
- Under the supervision of the General Manager of Inland Operations, the Manager
- of Operations - BRC oversees all aspects of Blue Ridge Connector Operations.
- Upholds the values of the GPA to promote Safety, Integrity, Respect, Community,
- Creativity and Opportunity. Promotes a safe work environment by participating in
- safety initiatives and reporting unsafe conditions and behaviors.
JOB DUTIES
- Responsible for the planning and execution of daily operations and the direct
- management of the BRC terminal and employees.Ensures that all GPA Intermodal
- Operations and GPA Corporate Safety standards are followed, to include
- maintaining appropriate SOP's and ensuring adherence to all terminal compliance
- guidelines for employees and vendors.Collaborates and engages with Class I
- Railroad personnel as needed to ensure intermodal services provided are
- consistently meeting GPA's expectations.Responsible for overseeing and adjusting
- staffing levels, stack, truck, and train management, as needed based on volume
- demand and GPA service expectations.Coordinates all aspects of external
- stakeholders' involvement with BRC to ensure organized and efficient operations,
- to include, but not limited to, customer service issues, billing concerns, and
- vendor service requirements.Actively monitors inventory and billing management
- on terminal, ensuring the placarding requirements, storage, billing, and overall
- handling procedures for hazardous or other commodities are handled
- appropriately.Maintains and/or develops all appropriate training for
- employees.Responsible for preparing and presenting all aspects of BRC
- performance reports on an as needed basis.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Ability to effectively and professionally communicate with employees at all
- levels of GPA's organization, as well as customers and other external
- stakeholders.Skills in scheduling, organizing, and supervising the safe and
- efficient work of all subordinates.Ability to exercise prompt independent
- judgment.Ability to learn and utilize GPA's terminal operating system(s) and
- data analysis tools.
- Experience
- 1-3 years Intermodal terminal operations management Required1-3 years Class I
- railroad operations management or network design and planning Preferred
- Education
- Preferred Bachelor's Degree Four-year college degree in business,
- transportation, or related field
- Licenses & Certifications
- TWIC - Transportation Worker Identification Credential Required Upon
- HireDriver's License - Valid state driver's license Required Upon Hire
