  • POSITION DESCRIPTION
  • The Loss Prevention & Security Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of guests, employees, and property while also safeguarding company assets against theft, misuse, or damage. This position oversees the daily operations of the security and loss prevention staff, enforces company policies, coordinates emergency and incident response, and supports compliance with local laws and regulations.
  • The Loss Prevention & Security Supervisor is responsible for onboarding, training, and providing ongoing education to the Loss Prevention & Security team.
  • The Loss Prevention & Security Supervisor also serves as a liaison between management, employees, guests, and law enforcement as needed.
  • The incumbent must understand how to deal with security issues with empathy and a calm demeanor. The knowledge and application of de-escalation techniques, gracious guest service, and solution-focused outcomes are necessary.

  • Responsibilities
  • Safety & Security Operations
  • 1. Monitor property through patrols, surveillance, and access control systems.
  • 2. Enforce company policies related to security, safety, and emergency preparedness.
  • 3. Respond quickly and effectively to alarms, disturbances, and emergencies.
  • 4. Support and lead investigations into accidents, incidents, or safety concerns.
  • 5. Work with Guest Services to compile clear and complete guest evacuation lists daily.
  • 6. Oversees guest and employee parking lot safety.
  • Loss Prevention & Asset Protection
  • 1. Implement programs to reduce theft, fraud, and inventory loss.
  • 2. Monitor high-risk areas and processes to minimize financial and property risks.
  • 3. Conduct investigations into suspected theft, policy violations, or loss-related concerns.
  • 4. Prepare accurate and timely reports for incidents, investigations, and audits.
  • 5. Utilize security reports, incident logs, and surveillance footage to identify trends and potential threats.
  • Training & Compliance
  • 1. Train team members on emergency procedures, guest relations, and company security/loss prevention policies.
  • 2. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations as well as company standards.
  • 3. Conduct regular safety drills and property risk assessments and keep logs.
  • 4. Safeguard and protect private and confidential information, data, investigative reports, etc.
  • Guest & Employee Support
  • 1. Provide courteous and professional assistance to guests and staff when security or safety issues arise.
  • 2. Partner with Human Resources, Department Manager, and General Manager to support workplace investigations or employee safety concerns.
  • 3. Develop strategies to enhance customer service within the loss prevention team.
  • Operational Oversight & Incident Management
  • 1. Recommend and help implement improvements to security systems, procedures, and technology.
  • 2. Maintain excellent relationships with local law enforcement and emergency responders.
  • 3. Coordinate with local law enforcement and emergency responders as appropriate.
  • 4. Develop digital documents, spreadsheets, inventory lists, checklists, and training materials for the department as needed.
  • 5. Provide support and back-up to loss prevention and security staff when needed in all the functions they perform.
  • 6. Incorporate the resort’s culture of service excellence, mission, and core values into all aspects of job performance.
  • 7. Participate in resort meetings, i.e. service improvement processes, emergency planning, Stand Up, safety committee meetings, etc.
  • 8. Ensure effective deployment of personnel across the property.

  • Qualifications
  • 1. High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, security management, or related field preferred.
  • 2. Minimum 3-5 years of combined experience in security, loss prevention, or law enforcement, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • 3. Strong knowledge of safety, security, investigations, and loss prevention practices.
  • 4. Excellent communication, crisis management, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills.
  • 5. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive situations professionally.
  • 6. Flexible availability, including nights, overnight, weekends, and holidays.
  • 7. Must be CPR, First Aid, and AED certified (or, willing to obtain upon hire.)
  • 8. Proficiency in security technology and systems.
  • 9. Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • 10. Computer skills, experience, and aptitude to include MS Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • 11. The position requires manual dexterity, auditory and visual skills, the ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures, and the ability to speak and communicate professionally.
  • 12. Physical Requirements: Ability to walk or stand and move about the resort (both indoors and outdoors) for eight or more hours per day, sit, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb stairs, push and pull items weighing up to 40 pounds.
  • 13. Excellent interpersonal, management, communication, and training skills.
  • 14. Ability to work under pressure and utilize critical thinking to recognize problems and identify solutions.
  • 15. Ability to drive a golf cart, after training. Valid driver’s license in good standing.
  • 16. Must pass high-level background check, past employment verification, and reference check.
