- The Loss Mitigation Closing Supervisor is responsible for the daily activities and operation of the Loss Mitigation Closing team to ensure proper servicing of delinquent investor/insurer owned residential mortgage loan products that results in reduced delinquency levels and reduced losses. High Risk and Title team staff will have the knowledge and techniques relative to the loss mitigation of residential mortgage loans, for the purpose of reducing delinquency/default/foreclosure. They are fully versed and compliant with all the state and federal regulatory collection and loss mitigation requirements, including but not limited to, the CFPB’s January 2014 and 2017 implementation. At Servbank, it is important to understand each borrower’s personal situation and make appropriate recommendations and arrangements to avoid future Default. This person is a subject matter expert with regards to industry loss mitigation techniques and Regulations. - Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in developing and maintaining default policies, procedures, and operating manuals to ensure compliance with CFPB, State, GSE, and GNMA requirements and regulations.
- Ensure all processes comply with whole loan, FHA, VA, USDA, GSE, CFPB rules, and private mortgage insurance guidelines.
- Provide clear, consistent feedback to staff regarding performance and quality standards.
- Maintain and document the bank case management systems.
- Implement departmental procedures to accommodate investor and insurer changes and updates.
- Monitor staff workload volumes to ensure proper coverage of all loans.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of all loss mitigation offerings from investors and insurers, as well as state and federal guideline updates.
- Prepare ad hoc reports as required.
- Conduct monthly performance appraisals for direct reports and approve reviews for subordinate staff.
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure documents are processed accurately and within SLA requirements.
- Ensure all exception reports are addressed promptly as required by management.
- Provide immediate updates to the Loss Mitigation Manager regarding escalated issues or matters impacting the team.
- Maintain professional and effective communication with all team interfaces.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Loss Mitigation Manager or senior management.
- Achieve monthly team and corporate-related targets.
- Requirements
- Proven ability to direct and motivate supervisory staff.
- Strong understanding of mortgage servicing processes and industry standards.
- Comprehensive knowledge of compliance requirements for whole loan, FHA, VA, USDA, GSE, CFPB, and private mortgage insurance guidelines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to prepare and troubleshoot team reports effectively.
Technical Competencies
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access).
- Preferred experience with MSP mortgage servicing system, Clarifier, and mortgage terminology.
