 - Oversee all parts delivery drivers, ensuring compliance with safety, DOT requirements, and performance standards, while optimizing logistics processes to support operational excellence and scalable growth in alignment with Caterpillar and Wheeler Machinery standards.

 - Operational Excellence
 - Lead logistics operations using Lean principles to eliminate waste and improve efficiency to become the Best.
 - Achieve department budget metrics aligned with revenue, direct expenses, and profitability objectives.
 - Digital Transformation
 - Utilize digital tools and logistics software for route optimization and delivery coordination.
 - Automate processes where possible and develop a Logistics Playbook.
 - Ensure a Growth Mindset towards all future digital tools that unlock value to our customer base.
 - Network Optimization
 - Align inbound shipments with supply chain schedules and outbound deliveries with customer expectations.
 - Negotiate contracts and service levels with freight carriers and Caterpillar; monitor performance and resolve issues.
 - Serve as the key point of contact for Caterpillar’s Standard Shipping Instructions.
 - Freight Expense Recovery
 - Develop customized recovery strategies for Mining, Energy & Transportation, and Construction market areas.
 - Lead initiatives to optimize freight expenses over a three-year period, collaborating with Finance and Supply Chain teams.
 - Track freight recovery progress, implement cost-control measures, and integrate KPIs into monthly business reviews to achieve monthly/quarterly/yearly objectives.
 - Enhanced Logistics Services
 - Expand and manage our Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) programs to improve customer uptime and reduce emergency orders.
 - Oversee delivery services to ensure timely, accurate, and cost-effective fulfillment of customer orders.
 - Ensure all delivery drivers are trained, equipped, and aligned with performance and safety standards.
 - Partner with Sales, Operations, and Supply Chain teams to tailor logistics solutions to customer needs in each go to market area (Energy and Transportation, Mining and Construction).
 - Leadership & Talent Development

 - Build a pipeline of talent and succession plans for key roles.
 - Mentor direct reports to achieve Caterpillar and Wheeler goals.
 - Strategic Initiatives
 - Support go-to-market scalability and freight recovery goals (three-year plan to full recovery by 2029).
 - Implement the Lean Daily Management tool (PSQDC) throughout our logistics operations starting January 2026 to measure performance across People, Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.
 - Qualifications
 - 5–10 years of leadership experience in logistics or operations.
 - Safety-oriented mindset and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, Growth Minded environment.
 - Proven track record of achieving results through problem solving and Lean
 - Thinking

 - Strong understanding of operational excellence and customer value creation.
 - Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage vendor relationships.
 - Ability to bring teams together through a One Unified Team Approach
 - Proficiency in logistics software and route planning tools.
 - Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
