Position: Logistics Broker / Coordinator
Location: South Plainfield NJ
Schedule: On Site 5 days per week - flexibility for occasional remote work once established

Compensation: Entry Level - 60k Experienced - Up to 100k based on experience and skill set
Commission - 10% of gross profit on all new business brought in by employee (selling not necessary)

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced logistics professional to manage and grow an established book of business. This role primarily focuses on tracking, trading, quoting, and coordinating freight operations. While the main focus is on operational execution, the ability to bring in new business is a strong plus and will be rewarded with a commission structure.

This is a hands-on, fast-paced role ideal for someone who thrives in logistics operations and enjoys working closely with carriers, shippers, and internal teams to ensure seamless delivery performance.

Responsibilities

• Shipment Management: Coordinate, schedule, and track shipments from origin to destination, ensuring on-time delivery and accuracy.

• Quoting & Negotiation: Provide accurate quotes, manage load trading, and work to ensure competitive and profitable pricing.

• Carrier Relations: Build and maintain relationships with carriers to ensure reliable capacity and cost-effective freight movement.

• Customer Support: Act as a point of contact for clients, providing updates and resolving operational issues quickly and professionally.

• Documentation & Compliance: Prepare and manage all required shipment documents and ensure compliance with relevant transportation regulations.

• Technology & Reporting: Utilize Transportation Management Systems (TMS), CRM, and load boards (such as DAT) to manage shipments, update records, and generate reports.

• Collaboration: Partner with internal teams to ensure smooth communication and execution across sales, warehouse, and operations.

  • Identify and pursue opportunities to grow the customer base.

  • Build long-term relationships with potential clients to increase revenue.

  • Commission available for new business at 10% of gross profit (GP).

Required Skills and Qualifications

• 2+ years of logistics, freight brokerage, or transportation experience (3PL strongly preferred).

• Strong knowledge of logistics operations, including FTL, LTL, and spot market dynamics.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel).

• Familiarity with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and CRMs (PipeDrive experience a plus, but any CRM experience acceptable).

• Experience with DAT Load Board or similar platforms.

• Excellent multitasking, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with strong typing speed and accuracy.
