One of 15 centers of its kind in the United States, the Waisman Center encompasses laboratories for biomedical and behavioral research, several scientific research cores, and a clinical biomanufacturing facility for the production of pharmaceuticals for early stage human clinical trials. In addition to its research efforts, the Center provides an array of services to people with developmental disabilities, offers numerous educational and outreach programs to young children and their families, and trains scientists and clinicians who will serve our nation in the future. The Leadership Training Coordinator will work within the Waisman Center’s University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD), in the Interdisciplinary Training operational area. The mission of the UCEDD is to support the full inclusion and self-determination of people with developmental disabilities and their families through: development of personnel qualified to provide services in the health, education and social service systems; provision of services, technical assistance and the dissemination of information; and the contribution of new knowledge about the causes and prevention of developmental disabilities, the impact of disabilities on individuals and families, and the efficacy of assessment, intervention and support methods. The Leadership Training Coordinator will design and deliver training to build maternal and child health (MCH) and other leadership competencies for trainees, including graduate and post-graduate clinical learners and community members with lived experience of disability as an individual or family member. The Leadership Training Coordinator is responsible for developing and implementing training in the following formats: half-day in-person workshops, seminars, a nine-month online-learning cohort, and an ongoing virtual learning community. This position will also develop materials to support participants’ learning (e.g., reflection guides, individualized leadership development plans, and tools to support goal development) and will contribute to collecting, analyzing, and incorporating lessons learned from evaluation data on all leadership training activities. Additionally, the Leadership Training Coordinator will collaborate with UCEDD staff and community partners to ensure effective training aligned with program goals. This position is part-time with an FTE of 50% to 80% (an estimated 20 to 32 hours per week). Key Job Responsibilities: Researches, develops, and facilitates outreach program content and materials Contributes to core functions of the University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD), including activities of training/teaching, conducting research, disseminating evidence and best practices, and demonstrating model services. Delivers outreach program content and materials to community members Leads the implementation of programs, policies, and procedures through oversight of day-to-day activities for program staff and student and community volunteers Schedules and secures resources and communicates logistics in support of an outreach program May assist with the monitoring of outreach program budget spending Develops and evaluates curriculum and programs and provides recommendations for improvement Identifies, promotes, and maintains external partnerships to support the outreach program Department: Waisman Center Compensation: $50,000 minimum; Salary is negotiable and will be based on education, experience and skills. Required Qualifications: Certified completion of a long-term Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Training program. At least two years of experience providing service in a professional discipline to individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. At least one year of experience providing guidance and pre-service training to learners at the graduate level. At least one year of experience in developing and implementing leadership training curriculum in multiple formats (e.g., in-person workshops, online modules, and virtual learning communities). Preferred Qualifications: Experience establishing or coordinating structured mentoring or coaching systems, such as mentor-mentee matching, mentor orientation/training, or evaluation of mentoring outcomes. Education: A Master’s Degree in one of the following health science fields that includes applied practice in developmental disability is required: developmental, educational or clinical psychology, social work, public health, or occupational therapy.
