The Lead Transportation Coordinator is responsible for the safe and quality Lead Transportation experience for all KIPPsters to and from school.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist with the data collection of Lead Transportation services metrics on ridership and change requests, change request forms, rosters, and attendance. Manage and communicate change(s) to request formsCollect performance metrics, process the data acquired,and follow up with missing entries Provide visual representation of performance via dashboard, table, or other reporting mechanisms required by the Regional Transportation DirectorPlan and execute meeting dates that will integrate school teams to Lead Transportation service needsSet up school orientations in collaboration with the Regional Director of Transportation Develops, maintains, and adjusts daily, weekly, and long term transportation schedules to ensure timely and efficient routing of schools buses and vehicles.Coordinates driver and vehicle assignments to meet students needs, field trips, extracurricular activities, and special education services.Monitors routing software and communicates with school staff, families, and drivers to resolve scheduling conflicts or delays.Collaborates with regional and campus based teams to adjust transportation schedules in response to enrollment changes, weather events, or emergency situations.Ensures compliance with state regulations and district policies regarding drive time, student ride time, and vehicle capacity.Tracks and reports on-time performance and schedule adherence; implements adjustments to improve operational efficiency.Serves as point of contact for last-minute or urgent scheduling changes, including driver absences, mechanical issues, or late buses.SchedulesEach team member serves as a regional employee responsible for supporting all campuses within their assigned region and is expected to travel throughout the region to fulfill operational needs. Team members will follow a staggered schedule that may include morning, mid-day, and afternoon shifts to ensure comprehensive coverage and operational support across all schools.QualificationsBasic reading and writing; plus 0-2 years of transportation experience, preferably in a school settingExtreme flexibility, with a strong work ethic and an entrepreneurial spirit to accommodate multiple, changing priorities Good manual dexterityDetail-oriented and self-directed Work with a sense of urgencyAbility to manage several tasks at once Ability to identify problems and proactively find solutions Commitment to tasks at hand Strong ethics and a determination to make the campus operate safely, efficiently, and effectivelyMust be customer focused Resourceful, thrifty attitude Willingness to learn Proven written and verbal communication skillsBasic computer skills preferredFluent English preferred; not requiredAdditional InformationCompensation and Benefits:The starting salary for this position is $35,000 and placement in the salary range is commensurate upon experience and internal equity.
