Job Description: As a Lead Engineer at Fidelity Labs, you will lead the development of innovative, customer-facing crypto products for a greenfield project. You will architect and build secure, scalable, and user-centric digital asset solutions from the ground up, driving the crypto vision for Fidelity Labs’ crypto initiatives. Collaborating with product managers, designers, and cross-functional teams, you will develop and implement ground breaking blockchain-based systems focused on FinTech use cases, ensuring robust security, performance, and flawless user experiences. Additionally, you will mentor engineers, contribute to open-source communities, and represent Fidelity Labs’ crypto startup as a thought leader in the crypto space. The Expertise and Skills You Bring 10+ years of proven experience designing and leading all aspects of large-scale, secure, and highly available financial or crypto systems, including architecture reviews, vendor selection, and migration planning. 10+ years of proven experience designing and delivering secure, scalable developer platforms and cloud-native applications on AWS, combining API-first architecture, microservice and container-based design, and automated infrastructure management to enable reliable, observable, and extensible systems for internal and external developers. Proficiency with document, distributed, and relational databases such as MongoDB, DynamoDB, PostgreSQL (JSONB), and MySQL, along with experience in large-scale data stores and analytics systems like BigQuery, Elasticsearch, or Snowflake for managing and querying unstructured and structured data. Experience in TypeScript, Python, Rust, or Go in developing server side, API driven application Experience with agile development, rapid prototyping, iterative feature validation, and continuous integration / continuous deployment (CI/CD) in a fast-paced, innovative environment. Demonstrated ability to mentor and guide engineering teams, encouraging technical excellence and innovation through collaboration and effective communication in a hybrid work environment. Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with designers, product managers, multi-functional teams, senior partners, and customers to communicate, explain, and align technical solutions with product vision, business goals, and strategic priorities. Experience utilizing, integrating, and ideally contributing to open-source software projects, with an understanding of community standards, licensing, and best practices for open collaboration. Passion for staying at the forefront of crypto innovation, with a proactive approach to exploring emerging blockchain technologies and trends Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in computer science, Cryptography, Engineering, or a related field (preferred but not required) The Team We are Fidelity Labs, Fidelity Investments’ in-house software incubator and digital studio. Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors. Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
