Middle School Art Mentor – Roots & Wings Village

Location: Walden, NY

We’re looking for a heart-centered, creative mentor to guide a group of thoughtful and expressive 10–13 year olds at Roots & Wings Village this fall.

Schedule:
Mondays from 12–3 PM
14-week session beginning Monday, September 8th

About the Program:
Our Creative Arts Immersion on Mondays invites students to explore their inner world through hands-on artmaking. It's a time for self-expression, connection, and creative risk-taking. By experimenting with different mediums and techniques, students learn to trust their voice, follow their ideas, and express themselves in meaningful ways.

About the Role:
You’ll support students in dreaming up, planning, and creating a personal art project to be shared at our End-of-Year Art Show in December. Your role is to nurture their creativity, help them build skills, and hold space for their unique artistic journey.

We’re looking for someone who:

- Enjoys working with middle schoolers and understands this dynamic age
Is passionate about art as a tool for self-discovery and connection
- Can hold space for individuality while guiding creative skill-building
- Loves exploring different artistic mediums and encouraging experimentation
