- Hillside Boutique Hotel is seeking a dependable and hardworking Landscape and Maintenance Assistant to help maintain and enhance the property’s outdoor spaces. and indoor areas. This role involves assisting with landscaping tasks, ensuring the grounds remain attractive, clean, and safe for guests and staff including the pool and hotel rooms. Also support the maintenance supervisor with repairs, inspections, and upkeep of the hotel's facilities. Where You Can Make an Impact
- Assist with planting, pruning, mowing, weeding, and general upkeep of the property’s landscaping.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of outdoor areas, including walkways, gardens, and recreational spaces.
- Operate and maintain landscaping tools and equipment, such as mowers, trimmers, and leaf blowers.
- Assist in the installation and care of seasonal plants, trees, and flowers.
- Remove debris, trash, and hazards from outdoor areas to maintain a safe environment.
- Assist with small-scale construction or repair projects related to landscaping.
- Support the team with special projects, such as holiday or event setups.
- Follow safety guidelines and company protocols to prevent accidents and ensure the well-being of the team.
- Assist with routine maintenance tasks, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical repairs.
- Perform inspections to identify maintenance needs and report issues promptly.
- Help maintain equipment, tools, and inventory supplies.
- Respond to guest and staff maintenance requests with urgency and professionalism.
- Assist with emergency repairs and troubleshooting during critical situations.
- Keep maintenance areas clean and organized.
- Document maintenance activities and provide updates to supervisors.
- Requirements
Education/Formal Training
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience
- Prior experience in landscaping or groundskeeping is preferred but not required; training will be provided
- Previous experience in maintenance or a related field is preferred.
Knowledge/Skills
- Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
- Strong willingness to learn and take direction.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to protocols.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Basic knowledge of landscaping techniques and tools is a plus.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physical labor.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Good communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with the staff.
- Flexibility to handle changing tasks and priorities as needed.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand, bend, and kneel for extended periods.
