About the Opportunity:
IGN Entertainment is seeking a new Junior Data Analyst. As a part of IGN’s Business Intelligence team, the Junior Data Analyst will help shape our decision making process through the compilation and presentation of analytical information and insights. You’ll primarily be working with 1st party web analytics but will also use 2nd and 3rd party data sets to fill out your understanding and provide more accurate, nuanced insights. You’ll also work closely with our product, content and sales teams to help them understand how they are tracking against their goals.


This role is suitable for those looking to get into either data science or data insight career tracks.


Job Duties:
  • Cleaning and preprocessing raw data to ensure it's accurate, complete, and consistent.
  • Creating simple visualizations such as charts, graphs, and dashboards to communicate findings.
  • Compiling and presenting data in a digestible format for internal teams or clients.
  • Execute standard reporting tasks and assist in ad hoc data requests.
  • Ensuring that the data meets quality standards and performing checks to catch errors.
  • Continuously learning new data tools and techniques to improve skills.


Job Qualifications:
  • An intermediate background in various forms of data manipulation such as aggregation,
hygiene, analysis and presentation, and the various forms of math required to do so.
  • Strong knowledge of Excel for data analysis, including functions, pivot tables, charts, and advanced formulas. Bonus points for experience with R,SQL, SPSS or business intelligence applications such as Mode or Looker.
  • Basic understanding of data analysis techniques and statistical methods (e.g., regression, hypothesis testing).
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
  • A natural curiosity about data, how it works, and how it can solve problems is key.


Work Environment:
  • Work Schedule: Standard full-time working schedule, M-F. There is no expectation for this role to work weekends, holidays, or odd hours. This role is eligible for overtime pay for hours worked over 40 in a given workweek.
  • Travel Requirements: No travel is required for this role.
  • Physical Requirements: This role involves typical office and computer-based activities, including prolonged periods of sitting or standing and frequent use of hands, fingers, and vision for tasks such as operating a computer, mouse, and keyboard.
  • Work Model: For applicants who reside in or around Los Angeles or New York, there may be a requirement to go into our offices 2-3 days per week. For others located in different areas around the world, this position will be remote.

Salary Disclosure: Ziff Davis provides a range for the base pay. Factors that may be used to determine your actual pay may include your specific job related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location. The base pay for this position ranges from $65,000 to $75,000, plus incentive compensation (for eligible roles only), 401K with company match, medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, short and long-term disability, and a flexible time off policy.
