Summary
- We are seeking a highly skilled Jr. System Administrator with a strong foundation in Windows 11 and Windows Server environments, who also brings hands-on experience with infrastructure systems. This hybrid role bridges end-user support and junior systems administration responsibilities. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent technical troubleshooting, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage projects from initiation through completion.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following
- End-User/Desktop Support
- Provide Tier 2/Tier 3 support for Windows 11 desktops, laptops, and peripheral devices.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, network, and application issues across on-site and remote users.
- Manage and deploy Windows updates, patches, and endpoint protection.
- Handle onboarding/offboarding processes, including workstation setup, account provisioning, and access management.
- Maintain hardware inventory and support lifecycle management of desktop and laptop systems.
- Systems Administration
- Assist in administering Windows Server 2016/2019, including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP.
- Perform user and group management within Active Directory and Office 365.
- Support and maintain VMware ESXi environments (basic VM provisioning, monitoring, troubleshooting).
- Assist in managing Cisco and SonicWall firewall appliances for VPN and network security.
- Support server and desktop infrastructure built on Dell hardware platforms.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to deliver IT solutions and manage small-to-medium scale projects from start to finish.
- Monitor logs and alerts, perform basic scripting/automation tasks (PowerShell preferred), and support IT initiatives as needed.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- 3–5 years of desktop support experience with at least 1–2 years of exposure to systems administration.
- Strong understanding of Windows 11, Microsoft 365, and Office productivity tools.
- Working knowledge of Windows Server administration, including Active Directory and Group Policy.
- Hands-on experience with VMware ESXi, Cisco switches and SonicWall firewall appliances, and Dell server/desktop hardware.
- Solid grasp of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VPN, DNS, DHCP).
- Excellent analytical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels and manage IT tasks/projects through completion.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with scripting (PowerShell), MDM tools (Intune preferred), and backup/disaster recovery solutions.
- Experience with ticketing systems and documentation platforms (e.g., BOSS Helpdesk, or similar).
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, or Microsoft certifications are a plus.

- High School Diploma or equivalent·
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Experience:· 3+ years of end-user computing support experience·
- Experience working both independently and as part of a team·
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills·
- Ability to multitask effectively and work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment·
- Detail-oriented with excellent follow-up practices·
- Commitment to IT procedural guidelines and policies
- Technical Skills:· Excellent IT skills and knowledge of troubleshooting computer-related issues with both hardware and software, as well as desktop, laptop, and mobile devices·
- Experience with troubleshooting network and local printers·
- Familiarity with troubleshooting network/connectivity issues, TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP ·
- Experience utilizing a Help Desk ticketing system·
- Knowledge of remote access, such as VPN and Remote Desktop·
- Knowledge of troubleshooting Microsoft Office applications
- Language Skills
- Fluent in English
- Foreign Language skills are desirable
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business information
