Here’s what you’ll do

  • Ensure smooth daily operations by making decisions that respect and embrace the company culture and diversity of beliefs, avoids disruptions, and supports an inclusive environment.
  • Provide day-to-day direction and oversight to ensure team alignment with project goals, timelines, and quality standards.
  • Conduct regular 1:1s and team meetings to monitor progress, address concerns, and support professional development.
  • Mentor and coach coworkers, fostering a culture of continuous learning, accountability, and collaboration.
  • Manage resource allocation and workload balancing across multiple projects or initiatives.
  • Work with the IT team, business coworkers, and software vendors to design and implement technical solutions.
  • Provides knowledge and process leadership in various Enterprise systems (such as ERP, TMS, WMS, HRIS, etcetera) development, usage, and best practices in a mid-size organization.
  • Ensure timely, high-quality delivery of solutions that meet functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Coordinate across multiple teams and workstreams, ensuring dependencies are identified and managed effectively.
  • Track and report on progress, using metrics and dashboards to communicate status, risks, and issues to stakeholders.
  • Manage scope, schedule, and budget, proactively addressing variances and trade-offs.
  • Adheres to standards and guidelines established for the corporate network, server and desktop environments.
  • Provides back-up support to other members of the IT team as needed to ensure adequate internal customer service.
  • Requirements

Qualified candidates will have

  • High School Diploma required; Four-year college degree preferred.
  • Minimum 4 years of related experience including: managing custom programming projects, supporting or implementing enterprise systems, capturing and proposing solutions based on user requirements, creating software documentation and testing software.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with one or more technology domains and the ability to learn and apply new and emerging concepts efficiently.
  • Experience leading technical development projects of increasing complexity to successful completion.
  • Must be flexible and agile to support OGC business needs and mission and may be assigned projects and/or other duties outside of normal job functions to meet the needs and demands of the business.
  • Manage multiple conflicting priorities, deal with ambiguity, and exemplify process management, while maintaining composure and exercising organizational agility.
  • Flexible and able to assist and interact with coworkers at all levels.
  • Ability to collaborate with team members across all levels of the organization to identify, recommend and deliver improvements in technology solutions and to improve business bottom line.
  • Ability to address short-term needs while aligning with the long-term requirements.
  • Take initiative to identify and anticipate customer needs and make recommendations for implementation.
  • Ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment, while remaining composed.

It’s helpful if you bring

  • Previous experience supporting the work of an organization operating 24 x 7.
  • Previous experience working with an organization with aspirational sustainability goals.
  • Familiarity supporting wholesale distribution companies and warehouse environments.
  • Previous experience on teams tasked with re-architecting the Enterprise technological environment.
  • Previous experience working in the produce industry.
  • Experience leveraging and/or developing reusable services and micro-services.
  • Understands systems inter-relatedness and data dependencies across the enterprise.
  • Familiarity with intermediate to advanced SQL as it relates to application development and systems integrations.
  • Familiarity with automated deployment and automated testing.

Physical Requirements

  • This position requires the ability to sit for long periods of time, hear and converse over the telephone and in person, key data efficiently and accurately frequently on a computer. Requires ability to accurately receive and disseminate information to maintain and enhance relationships. Ability to meet above description of position with or without reasonable accommodation.
