Overview We’re looking for an experienced Shopify Developer (ideally with React/GSAP experience) to help us migrate our current site into a Shopify-hosted theme environment. The goal is to retain the existing design and animations, while enabling Shopify’s Theme Editor, App integrations, and native hosting. I can provide the domain for you to review and it will be include din the questions when applying for the project. Our current website: • Built in React (with GSAP animations on two pages) • Hosted on Vercel • Has three pages total: 1. Landing page – animations 2. Product info page – animations 3. Experience info page - animations 4. Product purchase page – doesn't contain animations at the moment We want to bring this site into Shopify so: • It’s hosted within Shopify (not externally) • We can use the Shopify Theme Editor for content and merchandising changes • We can install Shopify Apps (e.g., Klarna, analytics, upsells, etc.) • All eCommerce functionality (cart, checkout, product data) runs through Shopify ⸻ Scope of Work • Convert the existing React + GSAP front-end into a Shopify Online Store 2.0 theme (Liquid + React “islands” where needed) • Transfer animations and interactivity where possible (GSAP or equivalent) • Integrate the existing product page into Shopify’s product system • Ensure full compatibility with Shopify Theme Editor, Sections, and Blocks • Implement responsive design and smooth load performance • Connect Shopify Apps (starting with Klarna, possibly others later) • Set up deployment to Shopify hosting (no longer on Vercel) • Provide documentation for how sections/blocks are organized for internal editing What We’ll Provide • Full access to: • The current site’s React source code • Figma design files (if needed) • Shopify account (development store) • Clear priorities and quick feedback turnaround • Potential for ongoing collaboration (updates, new pages, feature enhancements) Ideal Candidate • Strong experience with Shopify theme development (Online Store 2.0) • Comfortable integrating React components or animations into Liquid templates • Familiar with GSAP or equivalent animation frameworks • Experience migrating custom front-ends to Shopify • Strong understanding of Shopify’s Storefront / AJAX APIs • Attention to detail and design fidelity • Available for possible ongoing work post-project Project Type • One-time project, with potential for ongoing collaboration when we need adjustments to the website Please Provide: • Time estimate for how long this will take and a cost estimate. • If possible, examples of custom Shopify themes or headless-to-Shopify migrations you’ve done.
