We are a growing oral surgery practice seeking a part-time, experienced Insurance Verification Specialist to join our remote team. This role is critical in ensuring a smooth patient experience by verifying benefits, identifying coverage limitations, and setting financial expectations in advance of care.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

• Accurately verify medical and oral surgery insurance benefits for consultations and surgical procedures
• Obtain and document breakdowns of benefits, limitations, exclusions, pre-authorizations, and coordination of benefits
• Communicate clearly with front office and treatment coordination teams to ensure financial transparency for patients
• Identify out-of-network situations and calculate estimated patient responsibility based on fee schedules
• Contact insurance companies via phone and portal; escalate coverage issues proactively
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and strict confidentiality of all patient and practice information

What We’re Looking For

• Minimum 2 years of insurance verification experience in an oral and maxillofacial surgery setting (required)
• Strong understanding of medical and dental coding, benefit structures, and authorization processes
• Tech-savvy, reliable, and highly self-motivated—you thrive working independently
• Excellent communication, organization, and documentation skills
• Ability to interpret fee schedules, EOBs, and eligibility responses with confidence

Position Details

• Job Type: Part-Time
• Location: 100% Remote (U.S. based candidates only)
• Hours: Flexible, approximately 15–25 hours/week depending on caseload
• Compensation: $17.00 – $25.00 per hour (based on experience)
