Marathon Health is excited to add this new opportunity to our clinical team in Pensacola, FL! We’re seeking an Industrial Athletic Trainer (MSK Specialist) to join our mission-driven team. This role is a vital part of the healthcare continuum, focused on prevention, education, and hands-on support at the worksite. As an Industrial Athletic Trainer, you’ll deliver evidence-based musculoskeletal care and injury prevention services including body mechanics coaching, ergonomic evaluations, early symptom intervention, and wellness initiatives. You’ll also conduct annual MSK wellness assessments, initial injury screens, and provide OSHA-level first aid as needed. Collaboration with other health professionals and fostering positive relationships across the care team are key to this role’s success. In this role, you’ll have the unique opportunity to work closely with patients in their day-to-day environments, allowing you to better understand their work routines and tailor care and education to their specific needs. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Functions as part of care continuum and medical team, including but not limited to physician, PA/NP, physical therapist, occupational therapist, health coach, medical assistant, etc. Demonstrated knowledge of musculoskeletal injury care and prevention. Exceptional ability to engage employees in an occupational environment. Dynamic ability to communicate with employees from all levels of an organization in a clear and concise manner making education and training applicable to the current situation. Create and maintain positive relationships within all levels of the client’s organization. Conduct musculoskeletal screens and provide early symptom intervention with OSHA first aid for musculoskeletal dysfunction. Provides real-time ergonomic evaluations & body mechanics coaching at worksite for employees. Be the subject matter expert and provide customized education & training presentations. Conduct Post Offer Employment Testing (POET’s), physical demands analysis, and other client-specific assessments as applicable. Accurate and timely electronic documentation and support of client-specific reports. Communicates and collaborates with an interdisciplinary team to best deliver care to employees and maintain optimal health in work environment. Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential. Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with infection control policies, procedures, and regulations. Complies with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements and practice acts. Attendance at all Marathon Health center training sessions (including EMR training). Identify community health needs and strategies to address them. Lead in outreach efforts with Marathon Health to target those employees at highest risk of developing chronic diseases or workplace injuries. Ability to document within an electronic medical record. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree in athletic training from a CAATE (Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education) accredited program and a minimum of 2 years’ experience working in an industrial setting or 5 years in a professional setting, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Appropriate state license in good standing required and current BLS certification. Understanding of clinical documentation requirements utilizing electronic medical records software in accordance with state, federal, and company guidelines. Ergonomic training, certification, or experience a plus. DESIRED ATTRIBUTES Excellent presentation skills and ability to present education materials to multiple levels within a client’s organization. Comfortable working with employees at all levels within an organization, working independently with appropriate level of limited supervision. Consistently demonstrate professionalism in communications and relationships with patients, clients, co-workers, Marathon Health corporate leadership and support staff, employers, prospects, vendors, and carriers. Pay Range: $60,000 - $80,000/yr The actual offer may vary dependent upon geographic location and the candidate’s years of experience and/or skill level.
