Description of Work Salary Range: $45,926 - $80,369 Reporting to the Facility Maintenance Supervisor IV, this position is responsible for overseeing the installation, maintenance, and repair of the heating and cooling equipment for the facility. Applicant must have considerable knowledge of the design and operation of pneumatic and electrical control systems, and the practices, methods, materials and equipment used in the maintenance and repair of air-conditioning and refrigeration equipment. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: - Diagnosing equipment malfunctions and prescribing repair procedures. - Maintaining the correct temperatures for the facility and the proper temperatures of the refrigeration equipment for the kitchens and canteen warehouse. - Maintaining an inventory of parts required to repair the HVAC and kitchen equipment and proper tool inventory. - Operating the Maintenance Work Order System. - Training and supervising other workers. Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences Management Preferences: Knowledge of the practices, methods, materials, and/or equipment used in the operation, maintenance, and/or repair of air-conditioning and/or refrigeration systems Supervising employees and/or offender workers Experience with reading schematics and blueprints Necessary Special Qualifications: Requires current certification by the Environmental Protection Agency as a Type I, II, III or Universal technician as required by Title 40, Code of Federal Regulations part 82, subpart F.
