About

We are seeking an experienced HVAC Subject Matter Expert (SME) (U.S.-based) to review and improve existing multiple-choice test questions in our assessment library. The project begins with developing a short definition and topic outline for HVAC Technician Skills — identifying the key areas of knowledge, competencies, and regulatory requirements that should be assessed to confirm safe, compliant, and effective HVAC work in the United States. After that, the SME will review 60 existing test questions, ensuring technical accuracy, clarity, and alignment with U.S. industry standards, regulations, and best practices (e.g., EPA Section 608, AHRI, ANSI/ASHRAE guidelines). Based on the expert’s recommendations, we may add a follow-up milestone for creating new test questions to address any missing or underrepresented topics. The SME will collaborate closely with our Content Manager throughout the review process. Must be U.S.-based (Currently residing and/or working in the United States.) Required Qualifications Proven expertise in HVAC installation, service, troubleshooting, or system design. Hands-on experience working with refrigeration systems and HVAC equipment. Strong understanding of U.S. environmental and safety regulations related to HVAC (e.g., refrigerant handling requirements). Experience in teaching, mentoring, training, or supervising HVAC technicians (highly important). Strong attention to detail and excellent written English skills. Access to Microsoft Office (Excel and Word). 💡 Preferred Holding or having held at least one recognized HVAC credential, such as: EPA Section 608 Certification (Type I, II, III or Universal) NATE Certification ASHRAE Certified HVAC Designer (CHD) State-specific HVAC contractor or technician license
