ROLE SUMMARY

  • The HR Lead manages daily HR operations, effectively executing strategies for attracting, onboarding, engaging, and retaining top talent. This role supports the company’s vision by aligning HR practices with organizational goals and ensuring compliance with multi-state labor laws. People- and service-oriented, the HR Lead collaborates closely with HR colleagues and managers to address employee needs, resolve workplace conflicts, manage benefits, and strengthen organizational culture

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Execute, analyze and improve HR strategies.
  • Collect, organize and provide data to support and improve HR strategies, including employees’ PQRS and market trends.
  • Co-create with HR team and manager different HR strategies for: attracting, onboarding, engaging, and retaining top talent.
  • Execute with peers the different HR strategies to maintain culture, ensure compliance and meet capabilities and employees’ needs.
  • Ensure Policy & Compliance
  • Implement HR policies to maintain compliance with multi-state labor laws (ACA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, workers’ compensation).
  • Execute and/or support the execution of internal audits related to compliance, benefits, and personnel files.
  • Opportunely communicate and constantly inform all employees about internal and external policies, benefits and laws, to mitigate any related risk.
  • Manage leave of absence programs (FMLA, FAMLI, Short/Long Term Disability), ensuring compliance and employee support.
  • Manage unemployment and workers’ compensation claims, partnering with external providers as needed.
  • Maintain accurate HR records, including employee files, certifications, and training logs.
  • Recruitment & Onboarding
  • Execute recruiting activities for field and staff positions.
  • Facilitate onboarding and orientation to ensure smooth integration of new hires.
  • Employee Development, Relations and Culture
  • Lead resolution of complex employee relations matters, including conflict mediation, performance improvement plans, and disciplinary actions.
  • Partner with leadership to promote a positive, inclusive workplace culture and support employee engagement initiatives.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to managers, ensuring fair and consistent application of HR policies.
  • Serve as a bridge between employees and managers, escalating issues when needed.
  • Coordinate training programs as needed.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s or MBA preferred).
  • 3-5 years of progressive HR leadership experience, ideally in a company of similar size or in a growth environment.
  • Solid understanding of multi-state labor laws, FMLA, ADA, ACA, COBRA, workers’ comp.
  • Good knowledge of HR best practices.
  • Experience handling payroll, benefits, employee records, and daily HR processes.
  • Bilingual: English and Spanish.

Desired Qualifications

  • HR certification (SHRM-SCP, SPHR) is a strong plus.
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in Human Resources.
  • Minimum 3 years of HR team supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience in industrial services, construction, or field-based workforce environments is a strong plus.
  • ISO 9001 experience preferred.

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • This position is primarily office-based and requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time at a desk using a computer and telephone.
  • Occasional standing, walking, bending, or reaching may be necessary throughout the day.
  • This role may occasionally require light lifting (up to 15-20lbs) for office-related tasks (e.g., files, supplies).
  • The work environment is a professional office setting, with standard lighting, temperature, and noise levels typical of administrative environments.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary: $65,000-$85,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
  • Overtime: This is a salaried, exempt position and is not eligible for overtime pay.
