  • GENERAL DESCRIPTION
  • The HR Intern is responsible for providing assistance to the HR department with human resources processes for the organization. This role provides support to the human resource function as needed including policy & procedure research, file maintenance, new hire onboarding/orientation, data entry and assistance with other projects as needed.
  • JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assists with benefits plans, including enrollments, changes, terminations. Works with payroll to ensure proper payroll deductions are processed.
  • Assists with new hire on-boarding, including orientation, new hire paperwork, and initiating drug screens and background checks.
  • Assists with processing of terminations.
  • Assists with compliance audits, including affirmative action tracking, I-9s, and other HR documentation.
  • Conducts audits of benefits, personnel files or other HR programs and recommends corrective action. Implements corrective actions as directed.
  • Assists with the preparation of the performance review process, including 360 reviews.
  • Assists with recruitment and interview process. Tracks status of candidates and follows-up as appropriate.
  • Researches HR best practices and reports findings as requested.
  • Schedules meetings, trainings, and interviews as requested by the VP, HR or HR & Payroll Coordinator.
  • Performs additional clerical tasks as directed.

  • Remain in a stationary position approximately 75% of the time.

  • EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
  • HS degree or equivalent
  • Pursuing a college degree in the field of human resources; preferably two or more years into the program
