- POSITION SUMMARY
- The HR Generalist provides day-to-day HR operational and employee support, ensuring consistent and efficient execution of HR programs and processes. This role partners closely with employees and managers on onboarding, employee relations, recruiting, benefits, and HR compliance activities. The HR Generalist plays a key role in supporting the employee experience, ensuring process accuracy, and helping maintain a positive and compliant workplace.
- Responsibilities
- Onboarding
- * Manage onboarding, pre-hire, and new hire processes and ensure all items are followed through to completion in a timely manner and in accordance with federal and state timelines.
- * Conduct 2-week and 45-day check-ins to ensure smooth transitions.
- * Coordinate business cards, fuel cards, toll tags, and system access requests for all new hires and all current employees.
- * Complete all new hire state reporting within 30 days of employee’s hire date.
- Employee Relations & HR Operations
- * Serve as the first point of contact for employee questions in the Houston office, escalating complex employee relations issues to the VP of HR.
- * Support offboarding, including managing the IT offboarding process, FedEx label coordination, and follow up on collection of company property.
- * Maintain accurate employee records and ensure personnel files are updated in ADP for all HR documents.
- * Support the administration and tracking to 100% completion of all policies, performance reviews, and new hire and annual training compliance programs.
- * Conduct routine audits of HR data (EEO, insurance, MVR, etc.).
- Culture, Engagement, & Communications
- * Support branch engagement and culture events (e.g., seasonal challenges, celebrations).
- * Assist in employee communications such as XLT meetings, townhall meetings, or staff directories.
- * Partner with the HRBP and VP of HR on engagement surveys, recognition programs, and follow-up actions.
- Administrative
- * Complete and submit all employment verifications, state disability, and family leave verifications in a timely manner.
- * Support Payroll & Benefits Manager by completing monthly invoicing.
- * Process all HR-related mail; upload and save or forward to appropriate party.
- * Answer general employee inquiries where possible.
- * All other duties as assigned.

- QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- * Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Psychology, or a related field required.
- * HR certification (SHRM-CP, PHR, SHRM-SCP, or SPHR) strongly preferred.
- * Minimum of 3 years of hands-on HR experience, ideally in a coordinator or generalist role with depth in administration, onboarding, employee relations, and compliance.
- * Experience with ADP WorkforceNow highly preferred.
- * Advanced proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word) required.
- * Passionate about supporting the business by delivering exceptional internal service to our field and operational teams.
- * Experience supporting a multi-site, fast-paced environment with diverse roles and regional needs highly preferred.
