This position is directly responsible for performing human resources related duties on a professional level and joins the human resource team in delivering and providing legendary customer service. - Requirements
- This role is based onsite in Fort Myers. The starting salary is $58,600.00, with slight variation possible depending on experience. New hires typically begin at or near this starting rate, based on their qualifications and relevant background.
- Main Responsibilities
- Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to payroll, compensation, benefits, retirement, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; compensation and job studies; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
- Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
- Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings in alignment with overall organizational strategy.
- Maintains accurate position control information to ensure compliance with budgeted positions.
- Determines and applies salary placement for new employees and employee assignment change actions.
- Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
- Implements and conducts new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Conducts regular internal audits; and collaborates with Finance on agency audits.
- Assists with the development, implementation, reinforcement, and modifications of HR policies, programs, and procedures.
- Audits HR policies, programs, and procedures against relevant legislation and best practices and recommends improvements.
- Participates in the development of HR objectives and systems, including metrics, gathering and analyzing HR data, and providing ongoing reports based on organizational needs, and assists with the implementation of programs and special projects.
- Ensures online function-related forms, documents, and procedures are accurate and current; writes procedures as applicable. Develops and maintains appropriate record-keeping systems.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business or related field; supplemented by three or more years’ human resources experience; or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience.
- Demonstrated skills with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) required.
- Strong technical experience working with HR information systems required. Professional Human Resources certification preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written); excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; proven ability to prioritize, execute tasks, collaborate effectively, and maintain confidentiality.
- FLSA Status Description
- Work is performed independently under limited supervision with considerable latitude. Position typically requires processing and interpreting complex, less clearly defined issues.
- Work Conditions
- Physical Ability: Tasks require the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, but which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and material of medium to heavy weight (20-50 lbs.). Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation.
- Sensory Requirements: Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate visual cues or signals, and to communicate orally and in writing.
- Environmental Factors: Essential functions are regularly performed without exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
