  • The Role
  • This role will collaborate closely with the leadership team to align HR initiatives with business goals, nurture our unique company culture, and attract, develop, and retain top talent.
  • Responsibilities

People Strategy and Development

  • Collaborate with department heads to identify talent needs and create targeted talent acquisition and retention strategies.

Talent Acquisition and Onboarding

  • Oversee the full-cycle recruitment process, ensuring a positive candidate experience and attracting diverse, high-caliber talent.
  • Manage the online platforms to advertise and recruit the best talent within the hiring pool; keep all platforms up-to-date with accurate open positions
  • Partner with hiring managers to define job requirements, conduct interviews, and make data-driven hiring decisions.
  • Develop and implement effective onboarding programs to facilitate seamless integration for new employees.

Performance Management and Employee Development

  • Implement and enhance performance management processes, including goal setting, continuous feedback, and performance evaluations.
  • Maintain records of employee performance reviews and follow up with managers as needed to complete the reviews
  • Support managers in identifying employee development needs and providing learning opportunities to nurture talent and build skill sets.

Employee Relations and Engagement

  • Foster a positive and inclusive work environment, promoting open communication and a culture of respect and collaboration.
  • Address employee relations matters promptly and effectively, promoting conflict resolution and maintaining a healthy work atmosphere.
  • Drive initiatives to enhance employee engagement, recognition, and satisfaction.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Develop and manage competitive compensation and benefits programs that attract and retain top talent.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant labor laws and regulations while monitoring industry trends to optimize total rewards offerings.

Culture and Diversity

  • Lead efforts to reinforce and promote Poppy Handcrafted Popcorn's unique company culture and values.
  • Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives to foster a diverse and supportive workforce.

HR Compliance and Policies

  • Ensure compliance with all HR-related laws, regulations, and internal policies.
  • Regularly review and update HR policies and procedures to reflect best practices and legal requirements.

  • Requirements
  • Qualifications
  • Minimum 3-5+ years of HR experience, including at least 3 years in people management roles
  • Strong knowledge of HR best Practices, employment laws and regulations
  • SHRM-SCP or SHRM-CP certifications preferred
  • Strong employee relations and manager coaching experience
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to translate business goals into actionable HR initiatives
  • Ability to analyze problems, develop creative solutions, and make informed decisions
  • Experience with change management strategies and implementation
  • Experience working in a fast-paced startup or entrepreneurial environment is a plus.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong conflict resolution and mediation skills
  • Ability to respect, communicate and collaborate across lines of cultural differences
  • Understands business operations, financial implications of HR decisions, and how HR contributes to overall business success
  • Demonstrates a commitment to professional development and staying current with best practices.
