- Lonestar Electric Supply is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to support the daily functions of the HR department and serve as a versatile resource to managers, employees, and leadership. This role will touch all aspects of HR, including recruitment, employee relations, compliance, payroll/benefits administration, engagement programs, and culture-building initiatives. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and eager to contribute to a fast-paced, growing company environment.
Responsibilities
- • Review, track, and document compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments (e.g., safety training, anti-harassment, licensure, and certifications).
- • Recruit, interview, and facilitate the hiring of qualified job applicants; collaborate with managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
- • Oversee background checks and employee eligibility verification processes.
- • Implement new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
- • Perform tasks to administer and execute HR programs, including compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; performance and talent management; morale and recognition; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
- • Assist with payroll processing, employee timekeeping, and HRIS data accuracy.
- • Handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
- • Attend and participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations; review policies and practices to ensure compliance.
- • Support employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and company culture activities.
- • Maintain knowledge of HR trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and technologies in human resources and employment law.
- • Flexibility to support any HR-related initiative as needed, including special projects, reporting, and ad-hoc employee support.
Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
- • At least one year of human resource management experience preferred.
- • SHRM-CP certification a plus.
- • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- • Strong time management with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
- • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- • Proficiency with, or ability to quickly learn, HRIS and talent management systems.
Physical Requirements
- • Lifting up to 25 lbs. may be required infrequently.
- • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
- • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
