MHW is looking to hire a part-time international freelancer in the Philippines with 5+ years of managerial experience in both the hospitality industry (luxury hotels or cruise lines) and professional live music/DJ entertainment. We will contract through Upwork (as a freelancer, you will bill us hourly 20-24 hours per week, but up to 60 hours per week as shifts are made available to you). 100% remote work from home. Requires extremely strong work ethic and dedication, great personal integrity and responsibility, and a great internet connection. Opportunity for a long-term, stable role. You must be comfortable making a lot of phone calls to people in the United States, strong communication skills, and perfect English are required. JOB DESCRIPTION Hotel Entertainment Manager—Manager On Duty On behalf of our hotel clients, manage a large number of weekly entertainment bookings, and interview/audition musicians & DJs into the MHW database. This is an administrative business position, which also requires an understanding of live music performance at a professional level. MHW's clients are luxury hotels, and an understanding of hospitality brand standards, professional communication, and fast response time are important. Duties & Responsibilities ● Rotating Manager-On-Duty Shifts ○ Your primary responsibility will be Manager-On-Duty during your assigned shifts, which means being completely available on certain days, weekends, and evenings in case of last minute emergencies or issues with clients or musicians that are scheduled to perform on that day. Manager-on-Duty shifts will be assigned with advance notice and will be rotated among the team. ● Directory Building ○ Find new musicians through referrals and internet searches. Pre-qualify them, and audition/interview them (videoconference), in various markets around the United States. ○ Introduce the musicians to the MHW Live Music and hotel brand standards, expectations, and company, in a manner that instills mutual confidence and trust. ○ Complete each musician's Directory Profile, including uploading of video samples, contact information, and gear information to our Directory, with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. ○ Consistently meet tight deadlines (usually 24-36 hours) for new Directory additions upon the request of your manager. ● Entertainment Booking and Management ○ Select musicians that are appropriate for each hotel client’s entertainment program. ○ Understand and interpret the requests and goals of each hotel client, and be able to translate their requirements (remember they are not musicians) into proper entertainment programming decisions. ○ Prepare and send contracts (“Gig Sheets”) to the musicians for each performance with a high degree of attention to detail. ○ Follow up with the musicians on the day prior and day-of their performance to ensure on-time arrival and compliance with our brand standards. Reports to: Vice President and General Manager, Mike Tueros Skills ● Experience in professional live music ● Experience in a professional business environment ● Comfortable making phone calls, including cold calls. ● Excellent telephone, video-conference, and written communication/etiquette with fast response time ● Ability to translate non-musician clients’ requests into proper programming decisions ● Very punctual and reliable, especially during assigned on-call shifts.
