About

I’m building a YouTube channel that dives deep into horror comics, manga, and webtoons unsettling fairy-tale rewrites, folk horror, psychological/body horror, “cute-but-rotten” stories, and disturbing indie gems. I need a long-term scriptwriter who genuinely enjoys reading horror and can turn these stories into compelling, structured scripts for narration. This is not just “summarizing a comic” the scripts should capture both the story and the analysis (themes, symbolism, hidden meaning, why it works as horror). 👉 Please read this Google Doc in FULL before applying: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1V7oSrs8HpIwLx5lP-DL0-DdB_DmSCgeikQgq_dJn3TY/edit?usp=sharing Responsibilities: Read assigned horror comics, manga, or webtoons. Write scripts in the 2,800–3,500 word range (≈20–25 minutes narrated). Capture both recap and analysis, including: Themes Symbolism Folklore roots or creator intent What makes the story effective/scary Deliver scripts that hook from the cold open and flow smoothly through to the outro. Collaborate with me and the editor to ensure scripts translate well into engaging videos. You will also receive a step-by-step guide document on how to approach these scripts so you won’t be lost or left guessing about structure, tone, or expectations. What You Get: $40 per script (2,800–3,500 words, ~20–25 minutes narrated). Consistent work: 1 script per week (I’ll be hiring 2 writers, so you won’t be overloaded). Long-term relationship — raises and higher rates as the channel scales (I’ve built and successful channels before, and I’m looking for writers to grow with me. This isn't a false promise) Transparent client: you’ll have resources, outlines, and examples so you’re never guessing. How to Apply: Start your proposal with the phrase "I UNDERSTAND" so I know you read this. In 3–6 sentences, tell me why you enjoy horror comics/manga/webtoons. Share 2 writing samples (preferably analysis, essays, or storytelling). List 3–5 horror titles you’ve read (or want to cover). Once accepted, we’ll have a quick Zoom call before starting. I like to meet the people I work with long term. If you’re a horror fan who wants consistent weekly pay and the chance to build something long-term, this is for you. You’ll get to cover some of the most disturbing, surreal, and underrated horror stories ever written and help bring them to a new audience.
