- Athletics is an integral part of Cole Valley’s vision of developing the whole person to impact the world for Jesus Christ. We believe that God uses athletics to teach us spiritual truths. There are many biblical lessons and discipleship opportunities available as we strive to reach our fullest potential athletically. We are looking for a high school track sprints coach who can come alongside the head coach in developing players for sprint events.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist Head Coach in planning practices for sprint events.
- Teach proper sprint mechanics, starts, acceleration, speed development, and race strategy.
- Develop age-appropriate conditioning and injury-prevention programs.
- Assist with athlete placement in events and teams in collaboration with the Head Coach.
- Coach athletes during meets, including warm-ups, event preparation, and post-race feedback.
- Help promote and reinforce consistent philosophies and continuity with the Head Coach to the team, parents and extended school family.
- Equip CVCS athletes with instruction to develop skillset and necessary motivation to continually improve on the field.
- Assist with equipment setup, field preparation, and cleanup.
- Build relationships and invest in the lives of our students, helping them grow in their relationship with Christ as they see Christ living in you.
- Attend off-season activities as available.
- Requirements
- A testimony of faith in Jesus Christ.
- Desire to invest in and disciple students in their relationship with the Lord.
- Be spiritually mature with demonstrated leadership experience.
- Previous coaching staff experience at the high school or collegiate level and/or playing experience at the collegiate level.
- Previous youth discipleship experience preferred.
Job Data
- Hours: 15-20 hours/week during the season. Off-season hours vary.
- Salary: $1,000
- Starting date: The 2025 season begins with tryouts on March 2, 2026.
- Practices held at Capital High School in Boise.
