Job Description We are an independent health insurance agency seeking a Renewal Specialist to support our growing book of business. This role is full-time during Open Enrollment (November–January) and part-time for the remainder of the year. Our agency has a very loyal client base, strong referrals, and an extremely high volume of returning clients during renewal season. We are looking for a highly organized, dependable, detail-oriented professional who can manage renewals, client communication, and application updates with accuracy and care. This is NOT a sales-heavy role — it is a service and renewal-focused position. ⸻ Responsibilities Open Enrollment (Full-Time, Seasonal) • Handle annual health plan renewals for existing clients • Review plan changes, updates, and Marketplace notices • Update client applications with accurate household and income information • Assist clients via phone, email, and Zoom • Identify whether the client should remain on their current plan or explore alternatives • Submit updated applications and documentation • Maintain compliance and documentation standards • Manage a high volume of inbound renewal requests Off-Season (Part-Time) • Help existing clients with: • coverage questions • address/household updates • special enrollment period changes • lost cards / plan documents • application corrections • Track client tickets inside CRM • Maintain accurate client files • Update client notes, contact records, and follow-ups • Assist with occasional new client onboarding (optional depending on experience) ⸻ Requirements Must-Have • Experience in health insurance (Marketplace/ACA strongly preferred) • Strong phone presence and communication skills • Highly detail-oriented and dependable • Ability to work quickly and accurately during high-volume periods • Tech-savvy (comfortable with CRMs, email tools, and online applications) • Available full-time during Open Enrollment Preferred • Active health insurance license (any state) • Experience with: • Healthcare.gov • ACA applications • EDE platforms • FFM training • Prior experience in an independent agency ⸻ Hours • Full-Time (40+ hrs/week): November 1 – January 15 (Open Enrollment + Extensions) • Part-Time (10–20 hrs/week): Rest of the year ⸻ Compensation • Competitive hourly rate during Open Enrollment • Part-time hourly rate during off-season • Renewal bonus or per-renewal compensation available for licensed candidates • Long-term, recurring role for the right person (We can discuss pay structure options depending on experience and licensing.) ⸻ Who This Role Is Perfect For Someone who: • Likes service work more than selling • Enjoys helping people navigate coverage • Thrives in high-volume, fast-paced environments • Wants a stable, long-term recurring contract • Wants guaranteed, consistent work every Open Enrollment season • Knows Marketplace/ACA inside and out ⸻ How to Apply Please send: • Your experience with health insurance (Marketplace/ACA specifically) • Whether you are licensed • Your availability for Open Enrollment • Your hourly rate expectations • Tools/CRMs you’ve used • A quick note on why you’d be a strong fit We will schedule interviews with qualified candidates.
