Requirements:
- Hazardous Materials Management / Emergency Planning and Community Right to Know Act / Toxic Substances Control Act
o Manage hazardous materials permits and reporting withing state databases
o Prepare plan review applications for buildings with hazardous materials storage areas
- Reports, Plans, and Records
o Compile EPCRA Emergency and Hazardous Chemical Inventory (Tier II) annual reports
o Prepare Tier II reports using USEPA Tier 2 Submit program
o Maintain compilation of annual hazardous materials inventory
o Prepare and submit annual Hazardous Materials Business Plan for each permitted area
o Prepare and submit annual Hazardous Materials Contingency Plan
o Maintain hazardous materials user list
o Input all data into government provided database
- Inspections
o Perform annual inspections of chemical storage areas and ensure corrective actions are implemented
o Conduct annual compliance assistance visits
o Coordinate, attend, and prepare corrective actions for inspection findings for triennial inspection
o Notify hazardous materials users and EMD Technical Managers of scheduled County Hazardous Materials Compliance Division Inspections and coordinate internally
- Programmatic Support
o Review new projects for toxic gas use, submit toxic gas quarterly report, and conduct annual toxic gas user compliance assessments
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of California Requirements - CUPA and CERS
- BS Science in environmental or science/engineering w/ 4 college level chemistry classes
- 5 years’ experience in HW experience, including local & state regulatory requirements
- 40 Hour HAZWOPER Certificate
- DOT HM Certification
Pay: $48.00 - $52.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
