I am Dr. Cyrillo Araujo, a radiologist and the founder/inventor of BioPen®, an FDA Class I patented medical device designed to dramatically improve fine-needle aspiration biopsies by increasing diagnostic yield and reducing patient discomfort. BioPen is fully prototyped, engineered, validated, and ready for manufacturing. I have: • A Florida-based manufacturing partner • A contracted engineering team • Completed verification & validation documentation • Full design files, testing data, spend plan, and business plan • A clear commercialization strategy I am seeking an experienced grant writer to secure non-dilutive funding ($100K–$300K) to support manufacturing, final testing, packaging, and initial clinical rollout. Responsibilities: • Identify suitable grants (NIH, NSF, NCI, SBIR/STTR, BARDA, Florida state innovation grants, and private foundations) • Lead the entire grant writing process • Prepare Specific Aims, Research Strategy, Commercialization Plan, Budget & Justification • Transform complex clinical/technical content into a compelling narrative • Organize application materials, timelines, letters of support, etc. Ideal Candidate: • Prior success with medical device or biotech grants • Experience with NIH, NSF, or SBIR/STTR highly preferred • Ability to understand clinical impact (oncology, biopsy workflows, diagnostic yield) • Strong communication and scientific writing skills • Familiarity with FDA Class I/II devices and development pathways What I Provide: • Complete engineering + regulatory documentation • Spend plan and financial projections • Business plan and deck • Prototypes, images, and test data • Full founder engagement and collaboration If you have a track record of winning funding for health-tech or medical devices, I would love to speak with you.
