- Description
- Primary responsibilities are to process furniture orders to be delivered to customer’s homes, and handle any furniture inventory as it is received, unpackaged or transferred to the showroom.
- Warehouse staff will unload trucks, unpack and store furniture, dispose of packing debris and maintain the warehouse in an orderly fashion.
- Warehouse staff will prepare for each day’s furniture deliveries, ensuring the correct product is lined up for each order, and that it is inspected to ensure the furniture is 100% satisfactory.
- Each delivery truck should be cleaned and stocked with the appropriate delivery equipment, including straps, furniture pads, walk off mats etc.
- Trucks should be loaded so the furniture is secure for transport, and in the order of the delivery schedule to minimize wasted moving.
- Drivers will review the delivery route and confirm the correct paperwork is in order for the day’s stops. Drivers will operate the delivery vehicles safely, observing all legal guidelines and behave responsibly and respectfully with other drivers.
- At each stop the delivery team will follow the protocols to ensure safe entry to the customer’s property, taking all precautions to prevent damage to property or Skaff vehicles
- Furniture is to be delivered in a careful and respectful manner, so there is no damage to the furniture or the customer’s home. Furniture is to be placed in the home at the customer’s direction, and the delivery team is to confirm everything is operating correctly. When applicable, move or remove existing furniture.
- Delivery team will interact with customers in a friendly and respectful manner, complete any paperwork, and responsibly handle any money collected while delivering furniture.
- Each of the staff is responsible to arrive to work on time and prepared to engage in a productive day. While the work is a team effort, plan to follow the direction of the Warehouse Manager. Whenever opportunities arise, take initiative to contribute to the success of the department.

- Required skills and qualifications
- Physical ability: Ability to lift and move heavy items (often up to 100 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
- Operational skills: Experience in warehouse operations, including inventory control, and the ability to operate machinery.
- Technical skills: Familiarity with basic computer data entry and inventory systems.
- Soft skills: Strong organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Other requirements: A valid driver's license and a clean driving record may be required, especially for delivery roles. A forklift certification is often a plus.
