We are looking for a reliable Full-Stack JavaScript/TypeScript Developer to join our project on a part-time contract basis. Our stack is primarily Express.js (backend) and React (frontend), with TypeScript across the codebase and PostgreSQL for persistence. You will be working under the guidance of a senior engineer who will handle design decisions, code reviews, and architecture oversight. Your focus will be on building and delivering features quickly and cleanly. Responsibilities: - Implement new features in Express.js (REST APIs, integrations) and React (frontend UI) - Write clean, maintainable, and well-typed JavaScript/TypeScript code - Work with PostgreSQL for data persistence (migrations, queries, ORMs like Sequelize/Prisma) - Collaborate via GitHub pull requests and async communication - Follow coding standards and respond to code reviews - Communicate progress clearly and on time Requirements: - 3+ years of professional experience with JavaScript/TypeScript - Solid skills in Express.js, React, and relational databases (preferably PostgreSQL) - Familiarity with testing frameworks (Jest, Cypress) - Familiarity with GitHub workflows and code review process - Good English communication skills - Able to work ~10 hrs/week to start, with some overlap in North American time zones - Prior freelance/remote experience with U.S.-based teams Bonus Points: - Experience with real-time communication tools (Y.js, LiveKit, WebSockets, collaborative apps) - Experience optimizing performance for interactive web apps Why Work With Us: - Clear, well-defined tasks and strong senior oversight (no micromanagement) - Small, focused team where your contributions have real impact - Flexible schedule with async communication
