We're looking for a sharp, detail-oriented engineer who loves building beautiful, responsive, fast web apps and wants to work on a real product used every day by recruiters and sales teams. **About the Project** We’re building HireScout, a lead-generation tool that helps recruiters and talent teams find new job leads and the right hiring managers to contact. Link: https://www.hirescout.org/ Under the hood, HireScout is powered by: * A large MongoDB jobs database * Custom Python APIs * Existing authentication, API integrations, and core backend logic * A beta web app that needs polish, bug fixing, and new user-facing features We’re now looking for a front-end-forward full-stack engineer to own UI fixes, implement new features, and help us level up the product experience. **What You’ll Work On First** You’ll start with a paid test engagement focused on: * Fixing a few front-end bugs * Implementing a couple of small UI/UX improvements * Shipping updates to our production beta * Working closely with us to understand the codebase and shape longer-term collaboration If the collaboration goes smoothly, we’d love to continue working with you as an ongoing contributor. **Must-Have Skills** * Strong front-end engineering with a great eye for visual detail and UI polish * Experience building full-stack apps using: * Next.js or Vue.js (SSR experience is a big plus) * Python APIs (FastAPI or Flask is ideal) * MongoDB, including writing and optimizing queries * Ability to work independently, communicate clearly, and deliver high-quality work * Clean code habits and attention to edge cases and user experience **Nice-to-Haves** * Experience using Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or other AI-assisted dev tools * Strong product sense and an interest in shaping the direction of a new SaaS * Ability to propose better UI alternatives, not just implement specs * Startup/SaaS experience **Why Work With Us** * We move quickly and keep communication simple * You’ll ship real improvements directly to production * We are looking for future long-term collaboration **Tech Stack** * **Frontend:** Next.js, Vue (migrating toward Next.js), Tailwind * **Backend:** Python + FastAPI * **Database:** MongoDB * **Infrastructure:** Digital ocean + Vultr * **Tooling:** Cursor, GitHub, Linear Here is what we are thinking for this first milestone: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1TDQm3C3jmv8aC1k6rKz2NwfQPYoAc5G8PwhKGB8hi3Y/edit?usp=sharing Here are the API's you will use to build: https://docs.hirebase.org/introduction
