Job Title: Finance Controller (Part-Time, 30 hours per week) Location: Remote (based in India) Reports To: CEO About Enact Systems: We are a fast-growing technology company in the clean energy and SaaS space, serving global customers across the US, India, Europe, and the Middle East. Our innovative software platform enables enterprises and project developers to scale efficiently by improving operations, reducing costs, and driving sustainable growth. We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Finance Controller to lead and manage our financial operations. This is a part-time role (approximately 30 hours per week), with the flexibility to work remotely from India, while coordinating with global teams across time zones. About the Role The Finance Controller will take ownership of the company’s financial planning, reporting, compliance, and budgeting, while advising leadership on strategic financial decisions. This position requires someone who can work independently, manage a small finance team or external CPAs, and maintain full accountability for the company’s financial health and compliance. Key Responsibilities Financial Planning, Reporting & Forecasting • Lead the company’s financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes — including annual budgets and 5-year strategic financial projections. • Develop and maintain the global revenue forecast and P&L updated weekly, providing performance insights and key metrics to the leadership team. • Publish and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow). • Analyze profitability across revenue streams and provide recommendations to optimize performance. Accounting & Compliance • Oversee bookkeeping, financial reporting, and reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. • Manage Receivables, Payables, Payroll, and Audit processes (US and India entities). • Ensure regulatory compliance, including tax filings and statutory reporting requirements. • Coordinate with and supervise external CPAs or accounting vendors who maintain the company’s books. Business Support & Strategy • Partner directly with the CEO and leadership team to support financial decision-making, pricing strategies, and contracts. • Support the finance aspects of SaaS business operations, including customer invoicing, subscription revenue recognition, and margin tracking. • Provide ad-hoc financial analysis to support growth, new product lines, or geographic expansion. • Assist in financial modeling, cash flow forecasting, and risk management. Team & Tools Management • Lead a small team of part-time CPAs or external accountants to ensure timely and accurate deliverables. • Manage financial systems and tools, including QuickBooks, Tally, or equivalent platforms, to ensure efficiency and transparency. • Maintain secure access and oversight of company bank accounts for payments and reconciliation. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or Business; MBA preferred. • 5+ years of experience in finance, accounting, or financial planning leadership roles. • CPA / CA qualification strongly preferred. • Proven experience managing SaaS or global tech company finances (US and India preferred). • Strong understanding of financial reporting, compliance, budgeting, and reconciliation. • Proficiency in accounting tools such as QuickBooks, Tally, or similar. • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills. • Ability to work independently and proactively in a remote setup. • Flexibility to coordinate across US and India time zones.
