  • ABOUT THIS POSITION
  • The Field Marketing Manager plays a critical role in how Reading Horizons shows up in the world. Reporting to the Head of Growth Marketing, this role owns the strategy, planning, and flawless execution of all marketing events - ranging from large-scale national conferences to targeted customer gatherings, workshops, and webinars.
  • This individual will live and breathe event management, combining operational excellence, creative execution, and strong communication skills to create memorable experiences that generate pipeline, deepen customer relationships, and elevate brand visibility within the education community.

  • Event Strategy & Planning
  • Develop and execute field marketing and event plans in alignment with company goals for awareness, lead generation, and customer engagement.
  • Manage logistics and budgets for a diverse portfolio of events, including but not limited to national tradeshows, regional conferences, professional learning events, and customer roundtables.
  • Partner with Sales and Partnership Consultant teams to identify strategic event opportunities that drive high-quality meetings and pipeline growth.
  • Coordinate pre-event campaigns, booth strategy, communications and engagement activities to maximize attendance and visibility.
  • Negotiate and manage vendor relationships, including show organizers, shipping/logistics, AV, and booth contractors.
  • Event Execution & On-Site Management
  • Oversee end-to-end execution of all event details—from registration and travel coordination to booth setup, collateral, and lead capture.
  • Serve as the primary on-site contact for Reading Horizons, ensuring professional brand representation and seamless experience for attendees and staff.
  • Lead setup and teardown for booth and event spaces, coordinating staff schedules and responsibilities, and training of staff for teardown and setup.
  • Manage event technology (lead capture systems, etc.) and ensure timely training and handoff of leads to Sales.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Collaborate closely with the Growth Marketing, Sales, and Product Marketing teams to align messaging, campaigns, and follow-up strategies.
  • Work with the Marketing Content Manager to promote event participation and share post-event stories across channels (social, blog, newsletters, etc.).
  • Partner with the Partnership Consultant team on regional customer gatherings that foster renewals and expansions.
  • Coordinate with Finance and Operations on budget tracking and post-event reconciliation.
  • Performance Measurement & Optimization
  • Track and report on event metrics—including attendance, lead volume, sales meetings, pipeline impact, and customer engagement.
  • Evaluate event ROI and make recommendations to optimize future investments and outcomes.
  • Identify creative ways to extend event impact through post-event content, digital campaigns, and social amplification.

You’ll have success here if you value clear processes and feel qualified to do the following things

  • Use your Bachelor’s degree in Marketing (event, field, or experiential marketing), or related field.
  • Apply your previous experience in field marketing, particularly in the education sector.
  • Demonstrate your ability to manage budgets and financial acumen.
  • Travel to your surrounding territory up to 25-35%

  • Qualifications

Required

  • 3–5 years of experience in event, field, or experiential marketing—preferably within B2B or education sectors.
  • Proven success managing complex, multi-day tradeshows and smaller-scale customer events from start to finish.
  • High attention to detail, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple timelines simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; confident working with internal stakeholders, vendors, and partners.
  • Proficiency with event management tools and CRM/marketing platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Asana, Cvent, or similar).

Preferred

  • Experience in K–12 or higher education marketing.
  • Familiarity with the literacy or edtech space.
  • Experience negotiating with vendors and managing event budgets.
  • Strong visual eye for booth and brand presentation.
