Looking for a highly experienced mentor/instructor with deep expertise in Fastly and Akamai to support a learner ramping up in a new enterprise security role. The role is focused on hands-on technical guidance and live mentoring, walking through real-world enterprise configurations in detail. The ideal mentor has direct, practical experience configuring and managing Web Application Firewalls (WAFs) and Content Delivery Networks (CDNs), and can confidently demonstrate: • Setting up and tuning ACLs (Access Control Lists) • Creating and managing WAF rulesets • Blocking/allowing large sets of IP addresses • Interacting with the Fastly API for automation and configuration • Managing detailed CDN and firewall configurations in production environments In addition to Fastly and Akamai expertise, strong background in broader cloud security is preferred, particularly: • AWS security fundamentals • Python scripting for automation • Terraform for infrastructure management • Containerization and orchestration security (Kubernetes, Docker) ⸻ Responsibilities • Provide live 1:1 mentoring sessions focused on real enterprise WAF/CDN configurations. • Walk through technical details step by step, answering questions in-depth. • Share personal expertise from production environments with Fastly and Akamai. • Offer direct, practical troubleshooting and setup guidance in a live work context. ⸻ Requirements • Proven, hands-on expertise with Fastly and Akamai, especially WAFs, CDNs, and APIs. • Significant real-world experience with detailed configuration, ACLs, IP blocklists, and security rules. • Strong background in web application security and cloud security (AWS preferred). • Experience with Python, Terraform, Kubernetes, and Docker in security contexts. • Ability to mentor effectively in a live technical environment, going beyond theory into practice.
