Summary: We are seeking an expert Power BI developer to create interactive dashboards using data hosted on SharePoint/OneDrive. The ideal candidate will have experience developing reports that are hosted publicly and can share a portfolio of currently active reports. Experience with advanced data modeling and joining multiple tables and data sources is essential. Required Skills & Experience Must-Have: • 3+ years of Power BI development experience with portfolio of published dashboards • Expert-level Power Query (M language) for complex data transformations • Strong DAX skills for calculated measures, time intelligence, and KPIs • Power BI Service administration experience (publishing, refresh schedules, workspaces) • SharePoint/OneDrive connector experience for file-based data sources • Ability to translate business requirements into effective visualizations • Experience designing for public-facing dashboards (non-technical audiences) • Power BI Embedded or website embedding experience Nice-to-Have: • Geographic data visualization experience (maps, spatial analysis) • Experience with nonprofit or government sector projects • Familiarity with demographic/census data • Understanding of data governance and documentation practices Working Style: • Self-directed and accountable • Strong communicator who can explain technical decisions to non-technical stakeholders • Detail-oriented with commitment to data accuracy • Comfortable working collaboratively in a small, fast-moving team Project Details Team Structure: You'll report to the Project Manager Collaborate daily with Data Analyst (providing cleaned datasets) Partner with UX Designer (Weeks 2-3) on visual design Coordinate with QA Specialist (Weeks 6-8) for testing Time Commitment: Full-time for 8 weeks (~40 hours/week) Core hours overlap with EST time zone for client calls Flexible scheduling, but must meet weekly milestones Compensation: Competitive contract rate commensurate with experience Paid bi-weekly based on milestone completion
