Job Description I’m launching a small, owner-operated water damage mitigation company in Seattle, WA and I’m looking for an experienced restoration consultant who can guide me through the startup and early operational phase. This is a paid consulting role. I’m looking for someone with real, hands-on experience in the U.S. restoration industry who can provide practical guidance—not theory. What I Need Help With How to evaluate losses, moisture mapping, and scoping jobs Best practices for drying science, equipment setup, and job documentation How to speak with homeowners, adjusters, and plumbers Guidance on pricing, estimates, and mitigation workflows What equipment to rent first, and when it makes sense to buy Reviewing my first few jobs and helping me avoid rookie mistakes Insight into building SOPs, checklists, and documentation protocols Ideal Consultant Background 5+ years in water mitigation, restoration, or structural drying IICRC certifications (WRT, ASD, AMRT, etc.) are a major plus Experience training techs or helping new operators Familiarity with insurance billing and adjuster expectations Able to provide job-by-job advice, phone consults, or quick video calls Project Structure Ongoing hourly consulting (flexible) Occasional review of photos, videos, or documentation from jobs Ability to answer questions or give guidance as situations arise About Me I’m building a lean, high-quality mitigation operation with a strong focus on: fast response, clean documentation, transparent communication, and correct drying practices from day one. I have a strong business/finance/tech background and I’m looking for the right expert to help shortcut the learning curve and set this up properly.
